Ibanez AE140-OPN AE Series Acoustic Guitar in Natural

The Ibanez AE140-OPN is a modern, stage-ready electro-acoustic that blends classic acoustic character with cutting-edge design. With its solid Okoume top, advanced X-M bracing and innovative A.I.R.port, it delivers a clear, dynamic voice that you can hear and feel, whether you are fingerpicking at home or plugged in for a live performance. Comfortable to play and packed with practical features, it is an inspiring tool for songwriters, gigging musicians and developing players alike.

Born from Ibanez’s flagship AE series, the AE140-OPN is built for balance, projection and comfort. The Open Pore Natural finish lets the Okoume body resonate freely, while the Comfort Grip neck and laurel fretboard make chords, riffs and intricate lines feel effortless. Plugged in, the T-bar undersaddle pickup and AEQ-TP2 preamp capture your tone with clarity and give you simple, effective control over your sound.

Whether you are crafting your first songs, upgrading from a beginner acoustic or looking for a reliable electro-acoustic for regular gigging, the AE140-OPN offers a refined playing experience at every level. Its carefully voiced bracing and body shape provide a wide dynamic range and fast response, so the guitar reacts naturally to your touch, from delicate fingerstyle to energetic strumming.

Comfortable Neck and Playing Feel

The Comfort Grip Nyatoh neck is shaped to sit naturally in your hand, reducing fatigue over long sessions. Combined with the smooth laurel fretboard, it makes barre chords, fast runs and extended practice much easier, helping you focus on your music rather than fighting the instrument.

Expressive Okoume Tonewood Construction

A solid Okoume top paired with Okoume back and sides gives the AE140-OPN a warm, woody core with a bright, articulate edge. It responds beautifully to a light touch for fingerpicking, yet delivers punchy high-mids and clear projection when you dig in with a pick, making it a versatile choice for a wide range of styles.

Stage-Ready Electronics

The Ibanez T-bar undersaddle pickup and AEQ-TP2 preamp ensure your acoustic tone translates clearly when amplified. With a built-in tuner and simple 2-band EQ on the upper bout, you can tune quickly and shape your sound on the fly, keeping your setup clean and hassle-free on stage or in rehearsal.

Innovative A.I.R.port and X-M Bracing

The A.I.R.port and X-M bracing work together to optimise how the guitar moves air and projects sound. The internal structure guides sound towards a precisely placed sound hole, so you hear yourself more clearly, while the carefully scalloped bracing delivers tight lows, crisp trebles and a controlled midrange with impressive dynamic range and responsiveness.

• Solid Okoume Top - The solid Okoume top produces a full-bodied, warm midrange with a bright, lively attack. This gives your playing clarity and presence, whether you are recording, practising or performing live.
• Comfort Grip Nyatoh Neck with Laurel Fretboard - The ergonomic neck profile and smooth laurel fretboard provide an easy, inviting playing feel. This helps reduce hand strain and makes it simpler to explore more advanced chords and techniques.
• Ibanez T-bar Undersaddle Pickup and AEQ-TP2 Preamp - The T-bar pickup captures the natural acoustic character of the guitar, while the AEQ-TP2 preamp offers a handy onboard tuner and 2-band EQ. You get reliable, controllable amplified tone without needing extra pedals or outboard gear.
• A.I.R.port and X-M Bracing Design - The specially engineered A.I.R.port and X-M bracing enhance projection, clarity and responsiveness. You hear more of your own playing, and the guitar delivers a balanced sound with clear lows, crisp highs and a refined midrange.
