Hohner Blues Harp A Major Harmonica

The Hohner Blues Harp in A Major is a classic 10-hole diatonic harmonica built for authentic, gritty blues tone. From smoky shuffles to soulful bends, it delivers the raw, expressive sound that has defined blues, rock and roots music for over half a century. Whether you are just starting out or adding another key to a working collection, this is a dependable, gig-ready harp with a voice steeped in tradition.

Part of Hohner’s MS (Modular System) range, the Blues Harp combines a warm doussie wood comb with responsive brass reeds and durable stainless steel covers. Its modular construction means you can easily swap combs, reed plates and covers with other MS models, tailoring the feel and response to your own playing style. Tough, musical and endlessly tweakable, it is a true workhorse for players who live in the pocket of the blues.

Classic Blues Tone

The Blues Harp is designed specifically to capture the iconic, raspy sound associated with traditional blues. The combination of brass reeds and a wooden comb produces a warm, slightly dirty character that responds beautifully to bends, vibrato and dynamic playing. It is ideal for everything from Chicago-style wails to laid-back country blues licks.

MS Modular Construction

As part of Hohner’s MS series, the Blues Harp features a fully modular design. The comb, reed plates and cover plates are all interchangeable with other MS models, giving you the freedom to experiment with different component combinations. This makes it easy to customise the instrument’s tone, response and feel as your playing develops.

Comfortable Wooden Comb

The double lacquered doussie wood comb offers a traditional playing feel with added durability. The smooth finish helps improve comfort at the lips and reduces moisture absorption, while the natural resonance of the wood contributes to the harp’s rich, organic sound. It is a great choice if you prefer the classic response of a wooden-bodied harmonica.

Reliable Build for Regular Use

With robust stainless steel cover plates and precisely made brass reed plates, the Blues Harp is built to handle regular practice and performance. The reeds respond quickly across its three-octave range, making it easier to articulate fast runs, expressive bends and dynamic phrasing. It is a solid, road-ready choice for players who need an instrument they can rely on night after night.
