Product Description

The Guild Westerly D-140CE is a performance-ready dreadnought cutaway acoustic-electric that delivers classic Guild tone with modern playability and stage-friendly electronics. With an all-solid Sitka spruce and African mahogany construction, a comfortable C-shaped neck and a discreet Guild/Fishman GT-1 pickup system, it is built for players who want a powerful, balanced acoustic sound that translates effortlessly when plugged in.

Part of Guild’s revered Westerly collection, the D-140CE combines vintage-inspired styling with premium appointments, including bone nut and saddle, open-gear tuners and a beautifully detailed mother-of-pearl rosette and headstock logo. Whether you are strumming big chords, flatpicking lines or fingerpicking, this dreadnought cutaway offers the projection, clarity and feel to handle it all.

Classic All-Solid Guild Tone

The D-140CE uses a tried-and-tested tonewood recipe: a solid Sitka spruce top paired with solid African mahogany back and sides. Sitka brings clarity, headroom and dynamic range, while mahogany adds warmth, midrange focus and a strong fundamental. Together with OX scalloped bracing, this combination gives you the full-bodied, balanced voice that has defined Guild dreadnoughts for decades, with plenty of volume for solo performance or ensemble work.

Comfortable Cutaway Dreadnought Design

With its Dreadnought Cutaway body shape, the D-140CE offers the projection and low-end authority players expect from a big-bodied acoustic, while the cutaway gives you easy access to the upper frets for solos and higher chord voicings. The gloss polyurethane finish lets the guitar resonate freely and shows off the natural beauty of the solid woods, while ivory-style binding frames the body for a clean, classic look.

Player-Friendly Neck and Feel

An African mahogany neck carved to a comfortable C shape makes the D-140CE feel instantly familiar in the hand. The 25.5 inch scale length keeps the string tension snappy and responsive, ideal for both strumming and articulate picking. A rosewood fingerboard with a 16 inch radius and 20 frets offers a smooth, modern playing surface, while the 1 3/4 inch nut width provides ample room for complex chords and fingerstyle work without feeling cumbersome.

Stage-Ready Guild/Fishman Electronics

The onboard Guild/Fishman GT-1 pickup system ensures the D-140CE is ready for any amplified situation. A discreet undersaddle pickup captures the natural acoustic character of the guitar, while soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls keep everything within easy reach without cutting into the side of the body. This simple, reliable setup lets you dial in a clear, musical sound quickly, whether you are plugging into an acoustic amp, PA or recording interface.

Features
  • All-Solid Sitka Spruce and African Mahogany Construction - Solid Sitka spruce on the top and solid African mahogany for the back and sides deliver a rich, resonant tone that opens up over time. This classic pairing provides a powerful low end, clear highs and a focused midrange that suits strumming, flatpicking and fingerstyle alike.
  • Dreadnought Cutaway Body - The large-bodied dreadnought design gives you impressive volume and projection, ideal for live performance and ensemble playing. The cutaway provides comfortable access to higher frets, making it easier to play solos, melodic lines and extended chord voicings further up the neck.
  • Guild/Fishman GT-1 Pickup System - A quality undersaddle pickup with soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls offers a natural, gig-ready amplified sound. With no bulky side-mounted preamp, the guitar retains its traditional look while still giving you precise control over your live and recorded tones.
  • Premium Vintage-Inspired Appointments - Details like the bone nut and saddle, Guild Vintage 18 open-gear tuners, three-ring rosette with mother-of-pearl centre and the iconic Chesterfield headstock logo add both performance benefits and visual appeal. These touches enhance tuning stability, sustain and overall refinement, giving the D-140CE a high-end feel.
