Product Description
The Guild Westerly D-140 in Antique Burst delivers that big, open dreadnought voice with a refined, vintage-inspired feel. With its solid Sitka spruce top and solid African mahogany back and sides, it offers a powerful yet balanced acoustic tone that works just as well for delicate fingerpicking as it does for bold strumming. Classic appointments, a comfortable neck and a stunning gloss Antique Burst finish make this a highly capable all-rounder for players who want a traditional look and sound with modern playability.
Part of Guilds Westerly Collection, the D-140 pays homage to the companys golden-era acoustics while benefitting from contemporary build consistency. A bone nut and saddle, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, and tasteful mother-of-pearl details all contribute to a responsive, musical instrument that feels inspiring from the first chord. Whether you are writing, recording or performing, this is a dreadnought that rewards a dynamic touch and keeps on giving as you dig in.
Classic Dreadnought Power and Balance
The D-140s D-size body and solid wood construction provide a full-bodied acoustic voice with plenty of projection. The combination of Sitka spruce and African mahogany yields a clear, articulate top end, a warm midrange and supportive low frequencies, so your chords stay defined and your single-note lines cut through without sounding harsh. It is a versatile tonal platform that suits folk, rock, country, blues and more.
Solid Sitka Spruce and African Mahogany Tonewoods
A solid Sitka spruce top is the industry standard for responsive, dynamic acoustic tone, reacting beautifully to both a light touch and heavy strumming. Paired with solid African mahogany back and sides, you get a pleasing blend of warmth, focus and natural compression that helps your playing sit nicely in a mix. Because all the main body woods are solid, the guitar will continue to open up and develop more character the more you play it.
Comfortable C Shape Neck and Rosewood Fingerboard
The African mahogany neck is carved into a comfortable C shape that feels familiar and easy to play up and down the fretboard. A 1 3/4 inch nut width offers a little extra room for fingerstyle work while still feeling approachable for players coming from electric guitars. The rosewood fingerboard and 16 inch radius provide a smooth, stable playing surface for both chords and melody lines.
Vintage Inspired Aesthetics
With its Antique Burst gloss finish, three-ring rosette with mother-of-pearl centre and iconic Guild peak headstock logo with Chesterfield inlay, the D-140 has a distinctly vintage flavour. Ivory-coloured binding, a period-correct tortoiseshell pickguard and open-gear Guild Vintage 18 tuners complete the classic look, giving you the feel of a 1960s-inspired Guild with the reliability of a modern build.
Features
- Solid Sitka Spruce Top - A solid Sitka spruce soundboard offers excellent clarity, headroom and dynamic response, so the guitar stays articulate whether you are playing softly with fingers or digging in with a heavy pick.
- Solid African Mahogany Back and Sides - Solid African mahogany delivers a warm, balanced tonal foundation with strong mids and controlled lows, helping chords sound rich and full without becoming boomy.
- Comfortable C Shape Neck with 1 3/4 Inch Nut - The African mahogany C shape neck and slightly wider 1 3/4 inch nut width provide a comfortable feel for both strummers and fingerstyle players, giving your fretting hand room without feeling cumbersome.
- Vintage Style Detailing in Antique Burst - The Antique Burst gloss finish, three-ring rosette with mother-of-pearl centre, Chesterfield headstock logo and tortoiseshell pickguard create an authentic, retro-inspired aesthetic that looks as good on stage as it does on the stand.
