Product Description
The Guild Surfliner Deluxe in Rose Quartz Metallic takes the laid-back cool of a vintage offset and updates it for modern players. With a lightweight solid Poplar body, roasted Maple neck, HSS pickup configuration and Guild’s new Floating Vibrato Tailpiece, it is a stylish, versatile workhorse that feels instantly familiar yet refreshingly different.
Inspired by the Pacific coastline and classic surf-era designs, the Surfliner Deluxe pairs offset looks with a contemporary feature set. From glassy cleans and funky rhythms to thick, singing leads, the combination of DeArmond Aerosonic single coils and a Guild HB-2 humbucker delivers a wide palette of tones, all controlled via a traditional 5-way blade switch. Add in the smooth vibrato system and slick bound Rosewood fingerboard, and you have an instrument that invites you to play for hours.
Vintage-Inspired Offset Style
Built from solid Poplar, the Surfliner Deluxe offers a lightweight, resonant platform with classic offset curves and a gloss Rose Quartz Metallic finish. The matching headstock ties the whole look together, giving you a guitar that stands out on stage while still nodding to timeless surf and indie aesthetics.
Roasted Maple Neck with Premium Appointments
Guild’s first roasted Maple neck gives the Surfliner Deluxe a dark, aged look along with added stiffness and stability. The satin-finished C-shaped profile feels fast and comfortable, while the bound Rosewood fingerboard with block inlays adds a touch of class and a smooth playing surface across the full 25.5 inch scale length.
HSS Versatility with DeArmond and Guild Pickups
An HSS layout combines a Guild HB-2 humbucker in the bridge with DeArmond Aerosonic single coils in the middle and neck positions. The HB-2 offers rich, warm humbucker tones with bold mids, tight lows and sparkling highs that respond brilliantly to distortion. The Aerosonic single coils provide chime, clarity and a more acoustic-like response when played gently, while still delivering raw, aggressive tones when you dig in. The traditional 5-way blade switch gives instant access to everything from bright funk rhythms to smooth, singing leads.
New Guild Floating Vibrato Tailpiece
The Guild Floating Vibrato Tailpiece (GFVT) opens up a world of expressive pitch effects, from subtle shimmers to deeper vibrato swells. Designed specifically for the Surfliner Deluxe, it features an embossed G for classic Guild character, along with a nylon insert and easily accessible tension screw so you can fine-tune the feel of the vibrato arm to your preference.
Features
- Solid Poplar Body with Offset Design - The lightweight Poplar body keeps the guitar comfortable for long sessions while delivering a balanced, resonant tone. Its offset shape and gloss Rose Quartz Metallic finish with matching headstock provide a distinctive, vintage-inspired look that suits surf, indie, alternative and beyond.
- Roasted Maple Neck with Bound Rosewood Fingerboard - The roasted Maple neck offers increased stability and a dark, aged aesthetic, while the satin finish and C-shaped profile feel smooth and familiar in the hand. A bound Rosewood fingerboard with block inlays enhances both playability and visual appeal.
- HSS Pickup Configuration with 5-Way Switching - A Guild HB-2 humbucker at the bridge and DeArmond Aerosonic single coils in the middle and neck positions provide a huge range of usable tones. The traditional 5-way blade switch makes it easy to move from bright, quacky in-between sounds to powerful, humbucking drive or warm, jazz-ready neck tones.
- Guild Floating Vibrato Tailpiece (GFVT) - The GFVT system lets you add expressive vibrato to chords and single notes alike. With its nylon insert and adjustable tension screw, you can dial in the bar feel to suit subtle shimmer or more dramatic pitch movement, all while keeping the classic Guild styling.
