Product Description
Gibson’s taken the acoustic loved by legends like Elvis and David Gilmour (and countless others) and made it even better. This is the J-45 Standard — the guitar that’s been turning heads and stealing hearts since 1942.
The understated icon
From day one, the J-45 has been all about that winning wood combo: Mahogany back and sides paired with a gorgeous Sitka Spruce top. Add in those classic round shoulders and you’ve got a sound that’s big, bold and beautifully balanced. Whether you’re strumming, fingerpicking or doing a bit of both, this thing responds like a dream.
Comfort? Absolutely. The J-45’s timeless curves and Rosewood fretboard make it a joy to play. And with Gibson’s SlimTaper neck profile, you can keep going for hours without breaking a sweat. Once you start playing — good luck putting it down!
Quality hardware & electronics
Gibson have gone all out on the details. You get a Rosewood bridge for extra sustain, TUSQ nut and saddle for consistent tone and durability, plus Grover Rotomatic tuners for rock-solid tuning stability.
And when it’s time to plug in, the LR Baggs VTC system has you covered. This clever pickup doesn’t just capture string attack — it mirrors the movement of the guitar itself, giving you a natural, nuanced amplified tone that’s as close to the real thing as it gets.
