Product Description

The Gibson Acoustic Country Western 60s Original in Antique Natural brings a legendary 1960s design back into the spotlight, pairing vintage-inspired tonewoods and styling with a cutting-edge Baggs HiFi DNA pickup system. Handcrafted in Bozeman, Montana, it is built to be a lifelong musical partner, equally at home on the sofa, in the studio, or on stage, with a rich, balanced acoustic voice that translates beautifully when amplified.

With its classic mahogany and Sitka spruce construction, comfortable 24.75 inch scale neck and discreet yet powerful onboard electronics, the Country Western 60s Original is designed to grow with you as a player. Whether you lean towards country strumming, rock and roll leads or intricate fingerstyle, this guitar offers the responsiveness, playability and tonal character to inspire every performance.

Classic Country Western Voice

The Country Western 60s Original revives one of Gibson’s most celebrated square-shouldered acoustics. A Sitka spruce top paired with mahogany back and sides delivers a lively, open sound with impressive balance across bass, mids and treble. This timeless tonewood combination gives you a warm low end, clear midrange and sparkling highs, making it a superb all-rounder for a wide range of genres and playing styles.

Comfortable 60s Style Neck

Its 24.75 inch scale mahogany neck features a comfortable Round profile that feels instantly familiar under the hand and suits a broad spectrum of players. The neck is joined to the body with a compound dovetail joint using hot hide glue, maximising resonance and tonal transfer. A rosewood fretboard with a 12 inch radius, 20 standard frets and mother of pearl split parallelogram inlays offers a smooth, inviting playing surface for both expressive bends and relaxed chord work.

Refined Vintage Aesthetic

From the Antique Natural finish to the tortoiseshell coloured pickguard, the Country Western 60s Original exudes understated vintage class. At the headstock, sealed back Gotoh tuning machines with white buttons provide precise, reliable tuning, complemented by a bone nut and mother of pearl Gibson logo and crown. At the other end, a rosewood belly up bridge with a bone saddle and TUSQ bridge pins ensures solid intonation and a traditional look that fans of classic Gibson acoustics will love.

Baggs HiFi DNA Pickup System

Inside the guitar, Gibson’s exclusive Baggs HiFi DNA system captures the instrument’s acoustic character with remarkable realism. Two lightweight, flexible sensors are mounted to the bridge plate, each with its own preamp and EQ to minimise interference and inductance issues. Blended into a mono signal, they deliver a natural amplified sound with full dynamic range and gain before feedback comparable to an under saddle pickup. Discreet volume and tone controls at the soundhole keep everything within easy reach while remaining almost invisible to your audience.

Features
  • Sitka Spruce Top with Mahogany Back and Sides - This classic Gibson acoustic recipe produces a rich, lively tone with excellent balance across the frequency spectrum. The result is a versatile voice that works just as well for strummed chords as it does for articulate single note lines and fingerpicked passages.
  • Comfortable 24.75 Inch Scale Round Profile Neck - The shorter scale length and rounded neck carve make playing feel relaxed and effortless, reducing string tension for easier bends and smoother fretting. Combined with the 12 inch radius rosewood fretboard, it offers a comfortable platform for long sessions and demanding sets.
  • Baggs HiFi DNA Pickup with Soundhole Controls - The dual sensor, minimally invasive HiFi DNA system captures the guitar’s natural acoustic voice with impressive clarity and realism. Independent preamps and EQ for each sensor help preserve dynamics and warmth, while the subtle soundhole mounted volume and tone controls let you fine tune your live sound on the fly.
  • Vintage Inspired Hardware and Aesthetics - Sealed back Gotoh tuners with white buttons, a bone nut and saddle, rosewood belly up bridge and tortoiseshell coloured pickguard combine to deliver classic 60s Gibson looks with modern reliability. These details not only enhance tuning stability and resonance but also give the guitar an authentic, period correct appearance.
