Genelec SAM 8350A Studio Monitor in Black

The Genelec 8350A SAM Studio Monitor is a powerful, intelligent nearfield speaker designed for modern music, post and broadcast environments. Delivering up to 112 dB SPL with a wide 33 Hz to 22 kHz frequency response, it offers the clarity, neutrality and headroom you need to make confident decisions in any mission-critical studio.

As part of Genelec’s Smart Active Monitoring family, the 8350A works hand in hand with GLM software to analyse and adapt to your room. From compact edit suites to challenging control rooms, it automatically compensates for acoustic issues, so what you hear is a precise, reliable picture of your mix rather than the sound of the space.

Behind its iconic curved enclosure and integrated Iso-Pod stand lies a highly efficient bi-amplified design, with dedicated Class D power for both bass and treble drivers. The result is impressive low-end extension, exceptional transient detail and a wide, uncoloured sweet spot that lets you work longer with less fatigue.

With analogue and AES/EBU digital connectivity plus network control via RJ45, the 8350A slots easily into both traditional and fully digital workflows. Whether you are working in stereo, multi-channel or immersive formats, it gives you the accuracy and consistency you need session after session.

Smart Active Monitoring with GLM

The 8350A integrates tightly with Genelec Loudspeaker Manager (GLM) software, allowing you to measure your room and automatically calibrate each monitor. GLM compensates for problematic room modes and boundary effects, so your monitoring remains truthful even in less-than-ideal spaces. This means faster mixes, fewer surprises on other systems and more confidence in every decision.

High SPL and Extended Frequency Response

With a maximum SPL of 112 dB and a frequency response that reaches from 33 Hz to 22 kHz, the 8350A delivers both power and precision. You can judge low-end weight, kick and sub information accurately without relying on guesswork, while the smooth, extended top end reveals fine detail, ambience and reverb tails.

Directivity Control Waveguide

Genelec’s Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW) shapes the dispersion of the 8350A to create a wide, stable sweet spot and consistent off-axis response. This helps ensure that the tonal balance remains accurate across a broad listening area, making it easier to collaborate, move around the desk and still trust what you are hearing.

Rugged, Studio-Ready Design

The 8350A’s die-cast aluminium enclosure, integrated Iso-Pod and carefully engineered drivers are built for daily professional use. Its robust construction and thermally efficient Class D amplification provide long-term reliability, making it a dependable choice for studios and broadcast facilities where downtime is not an option.

• Smart Active Monitor with GLM Integration - Connect the 8350A to Genelec Loudspeaker Manager to automatically measure and calibrate your monitoring system. Room response compensation and level alignment help you achieve consistent, translation-friendly mixes, even in acoustically challenging spaces.
• 112 dB SPL with Extended Low-End - Capable of delivering up to 112 dB SPL with a 33 Hz to 22 kHz frequency range, the 8350A provides ample headroom and deep, controlled bass. This allows you to work at realistic levels and make accurate decisions about low-frequency content without additional guesswork.
• Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW) - The DCW-loaded tweeter offers controlled directivity and a wide, uncoloured listening window. This results in a stable stereo image and consistent tonal balance across the room, reducing the impact of reflections and improving mix reliability.
• Flexible Analogue and Digital Connectivity - With XLR analogue input, AES/EBU digital input and output, plus RJ45 control connections, the 8350A integrates smoothly into a variety of studio setups. You can feed digital audio directly, daisy-chain monitors and manage your entire system from the GLM network.
