Product Description
The Fender Limited Edition Player II Jazz Bass in Shell Pink takes the timeless J Bass formula and wraps it in a head-turning, vintage-inspired finish. With classic offset styling, a contoured alder body and a pair of Player Series Alnico 5 single coils, it delivers the articulate growl, punch and clarity that has defined countless records, while offering modern playability that feels effortless from the first gig.
Under the retro Shell Pink gloss lies a workhorse instrument built for everyday players. A comfortable Modern C maple neck with a satin back finish keeps your fretting hand moving smoothly, while the slab rosewood fingerboard with rolled edges feels broken-in straight out of the box. Add in a 9.5 inch radius and 20 medium jumbo frets and you get a bass that is equally at home laying down fingerstyle grooves, slapping hard or tackling more melodic lines higher up the neck.
Tonally, the dual Player Series Alnico 5 Jazz Bass pickups provide everything from tight, scooped funk to warm, rounded vintage thump. Independent volume controls for each pickup let you blend neck and bridge to taste, with a simple master tone control to dial in the perfect amount of bite or warmth. It is a straightforward, no-nonsense layout that rewards subtle adjustments and makes it easy to find your sound quickly on stage or in the studio.
Finished off with a 4 saddle bridge, single groove steel barrel saddles, standard open gear tuners and a 3 ply parchment pickguard, this limited edition Player II Jazz Bass combines classic Fender aesthetics with reliable, gig ready hardware. If you want a distinctive looking Jazz Bass that still delivers the familiar feel and tone you expect, this Shell Pink limited run is a stylish and inspiring choice.
Classic Jazz Bass Feel with Modern Playability
The contoured alder body and offset Jazz Bass shape sit comfortably against the player, whether standing or seated. Combined with the Modern C maple neck profile and satin urethane back finish, you get a fast, smooth feel that reduces fatigue over long sets and makes complex lines easier to execute.
Slab Rosewood Fingerboard with Rolled Edges
The slab rosewood fingerboard offers a warm, smooth playing surface, while the rolled fingerboard edges give the neck a played in, comfortable feel from day one. The 9.5 inch radius and 20 medium jumbo frets strike a balance between easy chording, confident bending and precise intonation across the entire neck.
Player Series Alnico 5 Jazz Bass Pickups
Dual Player Series Alnico 5 single coil pickups deliver the articulate highs, growling midrange and solid low end that define the Jazz Bass sound. From tight, percussive fingerstyle to bright slap tones and mellow, rolled off warmth, these pickups respond dynamically to your touch and technique.
Simple, Versatile Control Layout
Independent volume controls for each pickup let you blend neck and bridge signals for a wide palette of tones, from deep and rounded to bright and cutting. The master tone control provides quick adjustment of overall brightness, making it easy to adapt your sound to different songs, rooms and rigs without overthinking the controls.
