Product Description
The Fender Coastline 65 Jaguar Pickup Set delivers classic mid 60s Jaguar character with a touch more warmth, punch and presence. Based on Fender s revered Pure Vintage designs and built in the USA, these slightly overwound single coils keep the trademark bright, percussive attack of a good Jag while adding extra depth and harmonic richness that sits beautifully in a modern mix.
Using period correct Alnico 5 magnets, fibre bobbins and cloth covered wiring, the Coastline 65 set is ideal if you love the chime and snap of a vintage Jaguar but want a little more authority under the fingers. Whether you are upgrading a current instrument or restoring a classic, these pickups give you that unmistakable offset sound with improved focus and dynamics, ready for surf, indie, alternative and beyond.
Vintage Inspired Jaguar Tone, Refined
At the heart of the Coastline 65 set is a faithful recreation of mid 60s Jaguar voicing, complete with the fast, articulate attack and cutting top end that made the original so iconic. Fender have gently increased the wind to add warmth and midrange body, so your clean tones feel fuller and your driven sounds stay focused without losing that signature Jaguar sparkle.
Authentic Construction and Materials
Fender have stuck closely to original era construction, using fibre bobbins, enamel coated magnet wire and cloth covered leads. This not only looks the part in a vintage style cavity, it also helps the pickups respond and feel like an old set under the fingers. The flat, flush mount polepieces provide classic string to string balance that works especially well with the shorter Jaguar scale length.
Enhanced Dynamics and Noise Control
Alnico 5 magnets give these pickups a lively, responsive feel with plenty of attack and note separation, ideal for intricate chord work and fast picking. Each pickup is wax potted to help control microphonic feedback and protect the internal windings, so you can push your amp harder on stage or in the studio with greater confidence and consistency.
Drop In Upgrade for Jaguar Players
Designed as a universal orientation set, the Coastline 65 Jaguar pickups are a straightforward replacement for most Jaguar style guitars that use traditional single coil routes. With moderate output and a carefully balanced neck and bridge pairing, they slot seamlessly into existing wiring schemes and switching layouts, giving you a refined, gig ready take on classic Jaguar tone.
Features
- Slightly Overwound for Added Warmth - The Coastline 65 pickups are wound a touch hotter than strict vintage spec, giving you more midrange presence and low end body while still retaining the bright, cutting character Jaguars are known for. Chords feel fuller and leads carry more weight without becoming muddy.
- Alnico 5 Magnets with Lively Response - Using Alnico 5 magnets, this set delivers a focused, dynamic attack with excellent note definition. You get tight lows, clear highs and a responsive feel that rewards subtle picking nuances, perfect for expressive surf lines, jangly indie parts and ambient textures.
- Period Correct Fibre Bobbins and Cloth Wire - Fibre bobbin construction and cloth covered leads mirror original 60s Jaguar pickups, preserving both the look and tonal behaviour of the classics. This authentic build helps the pickups interact naturally with your guitar s electronics and contributes to their open, harmonically rich sound.
- Wax Potted for Controlled Feedback - Each pickup is wax potted to stabilise the windings and reduce the risk of unwanted microphonic squeal at higher volumes. That means you can run brighter amp settings or higher gain pedals while keeping your Jaguar clear, controlled and musical.
