Fender Coastline '60 Precision Bass Pickup

The Fender Coastline 60 Precision Bass Pickup delivers classic mid 60s P Bass character with a touch more muscle. Drawing directly from Fender's Pure Vintage designs, it combines alnico 5 magnets, period correct fibre bobbins and cloth wiring with a slightly overwound coil for extra warmth, focus and punch. The result is a pickup that keeps the familiar booming lows and punchy midrange of a great Precision, while adding greater harmonic richness and clarity across the spectrum.

If you love the feel of a traditional Precision Bass but want a bit more presence and definition without losing that unmistakable thump, the Coastline 60 is a superb drop in upgrade. It is voiced to sit perfectly in a mix, giving you tight, controlled low end, articulate note separation and enough bite to cut through without ever sounding harsh. Whether you are playing fingerstyle, with a pick or digging in for more aggressive lines, it responds dynamically and musically to your touch.

Built in the USA with period accurate construction, this split single coil uses flush mount, bevelled polepieces for even string to string balance and a smooth, vintage style response. Formvar coated magnet wire and wax potting help keep things stable and noise resistant at stage volumes, while preserving the open, airy top end that makes a good Precision so expressive. Installation hardware is included, so you can get up and running quickly and reliably.

Vintage Inspired Precision Tone with Extra Punch

The Coastline 60 stays true to the classic Precision Bass sound, but its slightly overwound design adds a touch more output and midrange authority. You still get the familiar low end heft and punchy mids, now with added depth and harmonic content that helps every note feel bigger and more three dimensional.

Alnico 5 Magnets for Focus and Dynamics

Using bevelled alnico 5 magnets, this pickup delivers a focused, articulate response with enhanced dynamics. Your playing nuances come through clearly, from soft, laid back lines to hard hitting accents, making it easier to control your tone directly from your hands.

Period Correct Construction and Materials

Fibre bobbins, cloth covered lead wires and flush mount polepieces capture the look and feel of an original mid 60s Fender pickup. This traditional build approach is not just cosmetic it contributes to the authentic response and musicality that players associate with vintage Precision Basses.

Stable, Stage Ready Performance

Formvar coated magnet wire and full wax potting help resist microphonic feedback and protect the internal windings. Combined with its moderate output, the Coastline 60 remains clear and controlled at higher volumes, making it a reliable choice for live work and recording alike.

• Slightly Overwound Split Single Coil - A moderate, slightly overwound output adds warmth, focus and punch while retaining the classic Precision Bass low end and midrange character, ideal for modern and vintage voiced rigs alike.
• Alnico 5 Bevelled Magnets - Alnico 5 magnets provide a tight, responsive low end and clear attack, with bevelled, non staggered polepieces ensuring consistent string to string balance and improved dynamics.
• Formvar Magnet Wire and Cloth Leads - Formvar coated wire enhances brightness and high frequency detail, while cloth covered leads and fibre bobbins deliver period correct construction and a traditional Fender feel.
• Wax Potted for Noise Control - Wax potting helps to minimise unwanted feedback and microphonics, protecting the internal wiring so the pickup stays stable and musical at rehearsal and gigging volumes.
