The short-scale Jaguar is a feisty beast, upgraded with the latest playing hardware, pickups and design tweaks Fender have to offer as part of the flagship American Professional range. This iconic offset retains its classic sixties silhouette while receiving a host of new updates to the vibrato system, bridge and neck to make playing as effortless as possible and sound super crisp with a new pair of V-Mod III single-coil pickups.

V-Mod III pickups and Series Rhythm Circuit

The American Pro Jag has been kitted out with all-new V-Mod III pickups, which capture the raw, throaty energy of the original Jaguar while sharpening the articulation and bringing a wider variety of sounds. The overwound design means there’s plenty of punch and aggression as expected from an alt rock and indie favourite. This completely changes with the push/push switch: press it to coil tap the bridge pickup for a lower output sparkle akin to vintage models. The ClassicGear Precision Potentiometers offer a satisfying custom torque and resistance for fluid volume and tone swells.

The rhythm circuit is a staple of the Fender offset, providing a way to completely change up your sound by setting the neck pickup to a thicker, higher output voicing. You get complete control over shaping your sound with independent volume and tone wheels.

Sleek neck and fingerboard design

The beauty of the Jaguar is the shorter 24-inch scale length, making it the perfect for instrument for guitarists with smaller hands or those after a livelier, rowdier tone than its offset sister, the Jazzmaster.

The Fender team has opted here for a Deep “C”, which gives the Jag a modern playing feel – slim at the lower frets while gradually filling out the hand the higher up you go. There’s a sprinkle of vintage flavour through the 22 narrow tall frets for expressive bends and easy chord fretting. These have been rolled to give the Jaguar a “played in” feel just like the most desirable vintage guitars. The Super Natural satin finish makes traversing the fingerboard silky smooth.

Lead playing is as great as ever thanks to a sculpted neck heel and bevelled neck plate ensuring there are no sharp edges to accidentally dig into your arm as you reach for the top frets.

Redesigned Panorama Jaguar Vibrato

The likes of the Stratocaster has always had one up on Fender’s offset models when it comes to the range of its vibrato. The new Panorama system grants access to both classy Jag style warbling and dramatic Strat-like dives, all while ensuring excellent tuning consistency.

The ClassicGear J-Bridge represents a huge evolution in offset Fender tuning stability and accurate intonation by locking each string’s break angle and contact point in tight-tolerance machined saddles.

• V-Mod III Pickups – Voiced specifically for each position, slightly overwound for punch and presence, yet retaining vintage warmth and clarity. Activated by a push/push switch, the bridge pickup can be tapped for a sparkly, vintage-accurate tone.
• Sculpted Neck Heel – The rounded neck heel and bevelled neck-plate improve access to the upper register and make leads easy and comfortable.
• Classicgear J-Bridge & Panorama Tremolo – Tight-tolerance machined saddles that lock each string's break angle and contact point, maximizing vibrational coupling to the body while correcting the intonation and stability issues inherent in vintage-style offset bridges. The Panorama tremolo with pop-in arm dramatically increases the range of vibrato available, allowing for deep, Strat-style dives in addition to classic Jaguar warble.
• Deep "C” Neck Profile with Rolled Fingerboard Edges – Delivering both comfort and speed, the neck profile is slim at the nut and fills out gradually as it approaches the neck joint to create a natural feel that’s perfect for chording and single note playing alike. The hand-rolled fingerboard edges and Super-Natural satin finish provide a supremely comfortable feel.
• Series Mode Rhythm Circuit – At the flip of a switch, the rhythm circuit puts both pickups in series for a thicker tone with increased output, controlled by independent volume and tone roller pots.
• Narrow-Tall Frets – A vintage feel with modern playability, especially effective for bending notes and playing chords up the neck with perfect intonation.
