Product Description
The Dean MLX Floyd Black Satin takes the iconic ML silhouette and packs it with modern, high-output performance at a price that is genuinely accessible. With a fast bolt on maple neck, dual DMT humbuckers and a Floyd Rose FR20 tremolo, this is a purpose-built rock and metal machine that is just as comfortable in the hands of a beginner as it is under a seasoned shredder.
Part of Dean's X Series, the MLX Floyd delivers the look, feel and attitude of their higher-end models while keeping things streamlined and player focused. Eastern mahogany construction, jumbo frets and a slick satin black finish come together to create a guitar that looks brutal, feels comfortable and sounds huge on stage or in the studio.
High-Output ML Power
At the heart of the MLX Floyd is its pair of DMT Design Zebra humbuckers. Voiced for high output and clarity, they deliver tight low end, punchy mids and enough top end bite to cut through any mix. Whether you are chugging rhythm riffs, ripping lead lines or rolling back the volume for cleaner passages, these pickups provide a versatile, aggressive voice that suits rock and metal styles perfectly.
Fast, Comfortable Neck
The bolt on maple neck with Indian rosewood fretboard is built for speed and stability. A comfortable C profile, 24 3/4 inch scale and 12 inch radius combine with 22 jumbo frets to make bends, vibrato and fast runs feel effortless. Pearloid dot inlays keep things classic and clear, while the 5 bolt construction offers solid connection and reliable tuning performance under heavy playing.
Floyd Rose FR20 Tremolo
The Floyd Rose FR20 tremolo system opens the door to divebombs, flutters and expressive vibrato while working in tandem with the locking R3 nut to help keep tuning in check. From subtle pitch shimmers to full-on squeals, the MLX Floyd is ready for modern tremolo techniques, making it an ideal choice for players who want to push their playing and their hardware.
Bold Aesthetics, Rock Solid Build
With its Eastern mahogany body and flat top, the MLX Floyd offers a solid, resonant platform with a familiar, powerful tonal character. White binding on the body, neck and headstock frames the aggressive ML shape, while the satin black finish gives the guitar a stealthy, stage-ready look. Black hardware and speed knobs complete the aesthetic, delivering a blend of class and attitude that stands out under the lights.
