Product Description
The Dean ML 79 Floyd Flame Top Duncans Slime takes the classic late 70s ML formula and supercharges it for modern rock and metal. With an eastern mahogany body, eye-catching flame maple top and a high-output Seymour Duncan JB and 59 pickup pairing, this is a guitar built to roar on stage. Add a Floyd Rose Special tremolo, fast V profile neck and jumbo frets, and you have a serious performance machine that is as playable as it is aggressive.
Designed to capture the spirit of Dean’s early days while adding contemporary reliability, the ML 79 Floyd delivers huge sustain, punchy mids and searing lead tones. From bluesy crunch to classic rock bite and full-on metal, it stays articulate and responsive under your fingers. The iconic ML body shape and vivid Slime finish ensure you will stand out visually as much as sonically.
The set eastern mahogany neck and Indian rosewood fretboard feel instantly familiar, with a comfortable medium V profile that encourages both chunky rhythm work and fluid lead playing. Combined with 22 jumbo frets and a 12 inch radius, bends feel effortless and chords ring clear across the neck. Intonation and tuning stability are rock solid thanks to the Floyd Rose R3 locking nut, Grover 18:1 tuners and the Floyd Rose Special bridge.
Whether you are upgrading from your first guitar or adding a bold stage-ready workhorse to your collection, the ML 79 Floyd Flame Top Duncans Slime offers pro-level tone and playability at a price that is hard to ignore. It is a no-nonsense, high-impact instrument for players who want classic Dean attitude with trusted Seymour Duncan power under the bonnet.
Seymour Duncan JB and 59 Pickups
The classic JB bridge and 59 neck combination gives you a huge tonal range, from smooth, singing neck tones to tight, aggressive bridge crunch. The JB delivers focused mids and cutting highs that slice through a mix, while the 59 offers warm, articulate cleans and fat lead tones, making this ML equally at home in blues, rock and metal settings.
Floyd Rose Special Tremolo System
The Floyd Rose Special bridge and Floyd Rose R3 locking nut let you divebomb, squeal and flutter without sacrificing tuning stability. Once locked in, your strings stay in tune through heavy whammy bar use, giving you the freedom to perform extreme vibrato effects and pitch shifts with confidence.
Comfortable V Profile Neck with Jumbo Frets
The medium V profile eastern mahogany neck offers a secure, comfortable grip that suits both thumb-over rock players and more technical styles. Paired with a 12 inch radius Indian rosewood fretboard and 22 jumbo frets, it provides a fast, smooth playing surface for big bends, rapid runs and precise chord work.
Eastern Mahogany Body with Flame Maple Top
The eastern mahogany body delivers a rich, resonant core tone with plenty of sustain and low-mid punch. Topped with flame maple, it gains extra brightness and definition, helping your riffs and solos cut through while also providing a striking visual statement under stage lights.
Features
- Seymour Duncan JB and 59 Humbuckers - A proven pickup pairing that covers everything from glassy cleans to high-gain aggression, giving you versatile, professional tones straight out of the box.
