Sound Like Noel Gallagher & Oasis

Sound Like Noel Gallagher & Oasis

Looking for that classic Oasis guitar sound? From early '90s anthems like Wonderwall to their '00s deep cuts, Oasis' sound is underpinned by Noel Gallagher's stadium-sized guitar tones and anthemic songwriting. We've curated a selection of gear inspired by his rigs over the years, combining his penchant for humbucker semi-hollows with British amps & a less-is-more approach to effects.

Electric Guitars

Noel has almost always been about the humbucker-loaded Gibsons and Epiphones. ES-335s, ES-355s, Les Paul Customs, and of course the Riviera.

Acoustic Guitars

Gallagher is known for his use of Jumbo acoustics, most notably variations on the iconic Gibson SJ-200. Expect a full-bodied, big singalong chorus kinda sound - can't go wrong.

Amps

Traditionally, Gallagher has opted for cranked valve tones courtesy of Orange and Hiwatt amps. Known as trailblazers of the Brit amp sound, these brands have graced Oasis stages for decades and it looks set to stay that way.

Pedals

While Noel kept it simple in the early days, as Oasis' sound evolved so did his rig - and that meant stompboxes. These have become part of that ultra-loud crunchy sound that you'll hear in those chorus crescendos and textured leads that get stuck in your head for days. From overdrives & distortions like the Ibanez TS-9 to reverbs & delays from the likes of Boss & Electro-Harmonix, a sprinkling of FX has produced some of his standout tonal moments.
