Product Description

The Thumb bass is a core part of Warwick’s line-up. With renowned players such as Dirk Lance (Incubus) and Ryan Martinie (Mudvayne) using them, you know that they’re made for high performance. This limited edition mahogany burl model offers gutsy tones and spellbinding looks to boot.

Construction

These German-made basses are constructed using class-leading machinery, combined with the expertise of their vastly knowledgeable luthiers. Warwick picks only the finest tonewoods available, giving you truly beautiful instruments with inspiring sounds. You’ll never want to put one of their basses down!

This limited edition Thumb features a mahogany body, offering weighty sustain and low-end emphasis. It's topped with mahogany burl, a rare appearance on guitars and basses - beautiful grain that ensures that you'll stand out from the crowd.

A bolt-on ovangkol neck delivers a healthy midrange with a bright treble response that's just shy of maple. Another rare tonewood addition is the use of wild mahogany for the fretboard, promising smooth feel, resonant sound and dynamite looks in equal measure.

Electronics

Combined with 2 active MEC J-style humbuckers, the mahogany tonewood combo really sings. These relatively high-output pickups bring out the Thumb's rich low-end, while ensuring that the midrange and top-end shimmers brilliantly. Active 2-way electronics give you great control over your sound, making this a very versatile instrument.

All things considered, the GPS Limited Edition Mahogany Burl Thumb is a truly standout addition to the Warwick line-up - don't miss out.

This is an amazing instrument. Not only a stunner, but also has such a beautiful tone. The only downside it's that is on the heavier side .

I had a neckthrough warwick 5 back in 2005,sold it, yep we have all done that, so wanted to replace it, this is as close as I could afford, and it's exceeded my expectations. Out of the box, very playable, in fact I've not touched it yet, it's set up good to go. The finish is better than the pictures on the Andertons site, and it's so playable, did I mention that, this bass has a great pallet of tones, thinking this one's a keeper. Thank you Andertons
