The Custom 24 is the definitive PRS guitar. Unveiled at the 1985 NAMM Show, this stellar six-string was PRS’ very first production model and it remains their most popular instrument even today. Distinctive for its flying bird fingerboard inlays, dual humbuckers, 24 frets and ergonomic contours; the Custom 24 is considered a modern classic among guitarists.
The PRS S2 Range aims to strike the perfect balance between stunning PRS craftsmanship and a more affordable price tag. While these instruments are quite the opposite of cheap, they certainly aren't in the same price bracket as many high-end PRS instruments; yet they boast unreal playability, gorgeous aesthetics and a level of reliability that's earned them a solid reputation as high-performance guitars!
Body & Neck
PRS' S2 Custom 24 boasts a Mahogany body, delivering a warm sound with plenty of harmonic richness in the mid-range. Adorned with a gorgeous Figured Maple top, this instrument's beauty is guaranteed to inspire you to pick it up and play for hours on end.
Joining the body is a Mahogany neck carved to PRS' acclaimed "Pattern Regular" profile. Providing a natural and supportive feel, the neck is also topped with a silky smooth Rosewood fingerboard that offers a luxurious touch under the fingers.
Hardware & Electronics
Although this particular model may be a part of the more budget-friendly S2 line, PRS spared no expense when it came to the instrument's hardware and electronic appointments. The PRS Patented "Molded" Tremolo keeps things solid, with its beautifully-machined design offering a comfy feel and a smooth vibrato arm action. At the other end of the guitar you’ll find a set of PRS Low Mass Locking tuners that'll keep your tuning super-stable, while making string changes a lot easier too.
The PRS S2 Custom 24 features 85/15 “S” Treble and Bass pickups, with a push/pull tone control letting you split their coils for glassy single-coil tones. The clarity and unique tones of these vintage-inspired pickups are both big and nuanced, so that you can easily find their tonal sweet spot.
