Product Description

PJD designed their beautifully-understated St. John Apprentice with a focus on feeling and looking "played in". The cracked nitrocellulose finish, roasted Maple neck and single Cream T pickup culminates in a classic aesthetic and gives the player a simple route to a range of inspiring tones. It's an alt-rock melody machine!

Key Features

  • Lightweight Obeche Body — Delivers a very lively response and a fast attack to the note, rich with warmth while balanced and crisp.
  • Bolt-On Construction — Produces a snappy note response for an immediate playing experience.
  • Roasted Maple Neck — Roasting process crystallises resins and removes all of the natural moisture retained by the neck wood, ultimately darkening the material and adding stability for rock-solid tuning!
  • "C"-Shaped Neck — Custom profile provides comfortable playability, suitable for both traditional and contemporary players.
  • 10-12" Compound Radius Fingerboard — Rounded at the lower end of the neck to make chords easier to fret, this radius subtly flattens out the higher you go; making faster passages feel easier to play.
  • Jescar 55090 Frets — Narrow tall fret-wire offers a controllable feel for wide vibrato and pitch-perfect string bends.
  • Cream T Scan '59 Humbucker — A precise replica of a real 1959 P.A.F. ("Patent Applied For") bridge pickup. It sounds glorious!
  • Mars-Tronic Treble Bleed Circuit — Ensures that none of the top-end frequencies are lost as you roll off the volume control.
  • Gotoh Vintage-Style Tuners — Provide great stability whilst maintaining a cool, retro aesthetic.
  • Bone Nut — Low-friction material minimises unwanted tuning slips and enhances sustain.
  • Included Premium Gig Bag — Protects the St. John Apprentice during transport to rehearsals, gigs or studio sessions.
