The Twin Lazers pedal is Mr Black's true stereo dual phase shifting modulator. This means two phasers run simultaneously to create crazy wormhole oscillations.
Made in Portland, Oregon, Mr Black are known for their boutique, full-thrust effects and overdrives.
It might look like they were inspired by Buzz Lightyear's getup but this is no kids toy. The Twin Lazers pedal is a serious piece of stereo and digital engineering based on the legendary Mu-Tron Bi-Phase envelope filter which set the trend for diverse pedals.
Four and six stage pitch shifting
Twin Lazers contains the ability to switch between four and six stage pitch shifting independently for each phaser. This gives you unlimited amounts of sonic potential. Go from a subtle dry mix to all-out experimental sweeps at the click of a button. Chain the six stage shifters together for huge, gloopy swirls. Use them in stereo for a delayed effect. Or simply run one phaser on its own. The choice is yours.
The shift control provides a massive scope of lag between 0 and 180 degrees. You can push this pedal so hard you won't know whether the sound is swirling clockwise or anti-clockwise. Cycle times also start at a blistering 200 milliseconds and climb to a sluggish five seconds. This gives you an idea of how creative you can get with the Twin Lazers.
Oscillator rate is displayed by a pulsing LED so you can adjust tempo and cycle times easily. Save your settings with one click and recall them any time with a dedicated switch. You won't have any problems adjusting on the fly either thanks to clearly labelled controls.
Mr Black have been savvy in designing the Twin Lazers to work with expression pedals. An EXP jack lets you plug in your expression pedal for control over any or all features. Alternatively use tap-tempo to press in time with the song, or hold it down to freeze the oscillation effect.
