Getting a big tone from a small body acoustic is a tough ask. But if anyone can do it, it’s Martin. The renowned guitar luthiers present the 000 Junior, a mini auditorium style acoustic capable of projecting a warm, strong sound.
The Junior makes use of a soft back edge to provide excellent comfort against the body. Martin really have thought of everything for the Junior – a brilliant home jam or practising solution.
Construction
The hardwood neck and Richlite fretboard are easy to navigate thanks to a 24” scale length, making tricky jumps from fret to fret that bit easier. Add the mortise and tenon neck joint to the mix and you’ll be flying up and down the neck minus any imperfections along the way.
Woods
The 000 Junior is made using a sapele back and sides with Martin’s famous sitka spruce top. This combination offers a great tonal balance between the warm low end and direct midrange without muddiness. The classy satin finish is sure to wear in nicely over time.
Bracing
Martin popularised X bracing, a classic scalloped construction method reducing the weight of the guitar and allowing the top to vibrate freely. Not only does this make the Junior an excellent travel guitar, but it pushes the vibrant tone to the next level.
