The Martin 000-18 is a beautiful acoustic guitar that harks back to Martin's pre war instruments with its elegant 000 body shape, Old 18 style rosette, and vintage styling.
Featuring the classic Martin construction of Solid Sitka Spruce top combined with solid Mahogany back and sides. That combination of tonewoods gives you a tone that wonderfully rounded and warm with enough spring and brightness from the spruce to give you all the definition you could want.
Auditorium body shape
An Auditorium body style gives the 000-18 a great, warm, balanced tone. This body style gives you excellent projection and focus, perfect for recording in your studio. The body feels comfortable and is finished to an incredibly high standard that looks amazing.
Modern Feeling Neck
The 000-18 has a low-oval neck profile with the Performing Artist taper. Its slim profile is easy on your hand, allowing you to comfortably play for longer. The shorter 24.9" scale length makes complex chords easier to play and the smooth ebony fretboard sounds great and feels comfy to play.
Classic Wood construction
Classic Martin guitars use a combination of spruce tops and solid mahogany backs and sides to create enchanting tone. You'll find this tonewood combination on the Martin 000-18. Solid Sitka spruce has a wide tonal range with great projection and with a solid-wood top, the tone of your 000-18 will age really well, with enhanced harmonics and even more incredible tone as it ages.
The Vintage style includes aged toner top, butterbean tuners and a large old style Martin logo.
Here's what Martin say about the 000-18
Carrying a distinct vintage-inspired design and updated like the D-18 a few years ago, the redesigned 000-18 offers many of the features found in our pre-war era guitars. The 000-18, which has a beautiful aging toned top in Sitka spruce, is married with mahogany back and sides. The body is edged with tortoise binding and complemented with a polished finish. The 24.9” short scale model’s neck features a modified low oval profile with Performing Artist taper, with a width of 1-3/4” at the nut and 2-3/16” string spacing for easy playability. Nickel open-geared tuners with butterbean knobs are found with a rosewood headplate, which displays a large old style Martin logo.

I like this guitar overall however as with every other acoustic I've played/owned it has a dull note on the 6th string , on this guitar its the 4th fret on the 6th string , it doesn't ring has minimal sustain and sounds like a dull thud . Not something you'd worry too much about when strumming but significantly noticeable when fingerpicking .

This is a beautiful guitar from one of the great instrument makers. The quality and craftsmanship shines through and playability and sound is exceptional. It is clear to me that this quality justifies the expense. No doubt the sound, as with any quality instrument, will continue to improve with age as the wood matures. I am so pleased with this guitar, I just want to keep playing it.

Having seen Clapton for the second time decided I had to have a Martin
Yes they are ridiculously expensive but a real Martin is in a different league to any other accoustic Guitar I have ever owned.
If you can stretch your self to get it....you won’t be disappointed
