Magnatone

The Magnatone name has been around since 1937, with the company famously producing a range of quirky electric guitars and vibrato-equipped amplifiers during their '50s and '60s heyday. The earliest proponents of the brand included the likes of Buddy Holly and Lonnie Mack, with legendary singer-songwriter Neil Young still using an old Magnatone 280 stereo amp in his live rig!

Magnatone declined in subsequent years and closed its doors in the mid-'70s. But the name was brought back to life in early 2013 by businessman Ted Kornblum (formerly of Ampeg and St. Louis Music), with his team designing an exciting new range of retro guitar amps — debuting at that year's NAMM Show. While some of these are reproductions of classic Magnatone circuits, the brand has also collaborated with ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons and Neil Young's guitar tech, Larry Cragg, to ensure that their new amplifiers capture the spirit of the original "Golden Era" models.

Slash has now joined the Magnatone Family!

Magnatone is excited to announce an artist partnership with the legendary guitarist, Slash. This will mark the first time in over 30 years that Slash is collaborating with Magnatone, and releasing a brand new Slash Signature 100-Watt model. Click Here to find out more!
