KORG's new SQ-64 is a sleek, streamlined polyphonic step sequencer. Featuring extensive editing functionality, with simple yet intuitive controls to match, this piece of gear ushers in the latest iteration of hardware sequencing. It's been designed to take pride of place in your studio - delivering additional control over your other instruments and gear in the process. 

Quality Look & Feel 

The backbone of the unit is the 64 step pad matrix. This can even be used as a keyboard, letting you harness a multitude of contrasting layouts. These layouts span keys (a standard piano layout), octaves (a scale highlighted within 3 different octaves per row), and isomorphic (notes get displayed in rows symmetrically). These lead to even more sonic options. 

This is bolstered by a bright, easy-to-read OLED display and a versatile set of connections. It's all contained in a durable solid aluminium housing. This design comes in at just 18mm thick too, making it a seriously portable bit of kit.   

Each of the 64 step button pads are backlit by LED, ensuring you can quickly see what's going on at a glance. They're complimented by mode buttons and encoder knobs, which allow for efficient hands-on editing and a more refined workflow. 

Sequences 

Crafting detailed and varied polyrhythms, melodies, modulations, sequences and polyphonic chord patterns is easy and fun. These can be recorded as data and assigned to the 64 available project slots. Each of your creations can then be augmented further via the powerful editing modes and features.  

Use the integrated arpeggiator to add further intrigue to your sounds - squeezing every bit of potential out of your digital/analog synths and soft plugins too. 

Add to that the 4 alternative sequence playback options - stochastic, random, bounce and reverse - and the ability to loop and chain any pattern you make, and you've got even more scope for complex music creation. 

Bundled Software 

You don't just get the SQ-64; you get an in-depth selection of software from the likes of iZotope, Skoove and Propellerhead - not to mention software synths from KORG themselves. This bundle provides you with even more music-making tools right out of the box! 

Flexible Connectivity 

Thanks to a MIDI in, 2 MIDI out, Sync in/out, micro USB type B and more, you'll be able to connect to (and take control of) any other digital and analog gear you might have. 

For example, the 3 melody tracks feature pitch, modulation and gate outputs - plus a drum track boasting 8 dedicated trigger outputs - making control of drum machines, Eurorack equipment and analog synths an absolute breeze.
