The Mighty Wurm

The Wurm Metal distortion pedal offers the grainiest, chainsaw-like, high-gain distorted and fuzz tones imaginable. If this pedal was around during the peak of Swedish Death Metal in the early 90’s, everyone from that scene would have used one!

However, the Wurm is not a one-trick pony by any means. Deriving from the discontinued Boss HM-2, this pedal takes that design to a whole new level. Retaining the powerful active EQ, you can tweak this versatile set of controls to find your perfect distortion sound. With most distortion pedals lacking mid controls, the Wurm boasts dual 'High Mids' and 'Low Mids' controls. This means that you can introduce or take away mid-range frequencies for a punch-in-the-gut tone or a sludgy scooped Dimebag-style sound.

Superb Flexibility

Not only can you experiment heavily with your tone thanks to the EQ knobs, but you can also adjust the sound of the KMA Audio Machines Wurm further via internal trim pots and dip switches. There's even more tone-shaping options at your disposal!

Each EQ control has a dedicated trim pot, which lets you shift the centre frequency of the bandpass; thus affecting the bandwidth. This means that when you raise the centre frequency, then the bandwidth will increase, and vice versa.

The two DIP Switches will also let you use, bypass or activate certain EQ modes. This enables access to the HM-2 EQ mode, giving you that genre-defining death metal sound. Or, you can switch it off and use just the Wurm EQ. And if you want a mixture of the two - you can do that too!

Pedal has a lot of crazy settings you would never actually use, but dial it in properly and it’s sounds amazing. Not a huge amount of gain but pushing an amp it works really well.
