The J Rockett Caliber 45 brings the classic 1962 JTM45 sound that has been used in rock and pop for years and years to the pedalboard. Influenced specifically from the old rig used by AC/DC guitarist Malcolm Young the 45 Caliber has a stunning bright, mid gain tone that has a long history of iconic players.
Classic Black & Gold Tone
The 1962 JTM45 is extremely popular for its low to mid gain tone that was used in classic rock from the mid 60's to the modern day. It was at the time a radical new amp that featured incredible amounts of smooth overdrive that no other amp had at the time. This pedal captures that era perfects with enough gain to handle bluesy leads but enough headroom to give you that slightly dirty strat sound as well.
Simple To Set Up
The 45 Caliber is really simple to get up and running. With a two band EQ covering the vital Treble and Bass frequencies as well as Volume and Gain controls you can dial in everything from a black and gold coloured boost to a full on tone takeover with plenty of gain.
Here's what J Rockett say about the 45 Caliber
The new .45 Caliber is a pedal we have been asked to create for some time now. It is a recreation of the original 1962 JTM 45 sound, overdriven. The sonic influence came directly from the old Malcolm Young, brilliantly crunchy rhythm tones and the old Pete Townsend Live at Leeds, "face-melting" goodness! To achieve that sound seems like an easy task but this design proved to be quite a challenge. After a year or so we feel we have nailed it, not only in sound, but also in feel.
The .45 Caliber also takes advantage of the new "Speed Switch" system.
