Left Handed Versions Available
Many of Gibson's USA guitars are available in left-handed configurations. If you're a southpaw who's always dreamed of owning a US-made Gibson, please contact us with any enquiries.
Despite its name, the Gibson Parlor isn’t actually a Parlor-style guitar. Many see it as a combination of the Jumbo, Dreadnought and Grand Auditorium shapes, but with a number of unique appointments that set it apart from the crowd. It’s thin body and pronounced curves offer an ergonomic feel without compromising that full-bodied Gibson tone.
Body & Neck
A Mahogany body allows for hefty low-end projection and a dynamic midrange, the sound that helped define the Gibson acoustic formula. Despite this, the guitar remains lightweight due to its thin construction and carefully calculated curves.
A multi-piece Sitka Spruce top balances the Mahogany’s broad sound with a tame clarity, helping to ensure that the tone isn’t boomy and clouded – it’s resonant and rich. The neck continues the Mahogany theme, but the Avant-Garde tweak means you’ve got an advanced response profile and Richlite fretboard for a smooth feel and excellent durability.
Hardware & Electronics
As with many of Gibson’s 2019 range, the Parlor AG features an onboard LR Baggs pickup and preamp. In this case, it’s the VTC, a soundhole system that mirrors the resonance of the Spruce top. This means a totally natural, dynamic tone that’ll respond to whatever style you play.
Hardware-wise, this particular model comes with Mini Grover Rotomatics – a familiar appointment for Gibson guitars of all shapes and sizes. You’ve also got a Richlite bridge for excellent tuning stability and the subtle Avant-Garde pickguard to add a dark contrast to the Parlor’s curves and organic aesthetic.
