Andertons Music Company has become one of a select number of retailers who have been awarded Genelec Reference Centre status. A Genelec Reference centre combines a studio-quality demonstration room with highly knowledgeable staff who can help you select the right Genelec monitoring solution for your room.
The Genelec name carries a lot of weight in the Pro Audio industry. Genelec are known for one thing only - quality. A name that is as synonymous with desirable and quality monitors as Fender is with guitars, the 8020C holds it's head up high. Whilst Genelec monitors are the choice of professionals, the price tag doesn't put them out of reach.
This bundle offers a simple package with great savings. You get a stereo pair of speakers to get a full spacial representation of your mixes and a matching pair of floor stands that offer the perfect placement of your monitors and keeps your desktop free and uncluttered.
Here's what Genelec say about the 8020C Monitors
The small Genelec 8020C has been designed for monitoring in difficult listening environments, particularly those compromised by lack of space. However, size is no handicap to performance as the 8020C two-way active monitoring system incorporates Genelec's acoustic design innovations to minimise all forms of distortion.
Our Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS) feature, reduces power consumption to less than 0.5 watts by automatically switching the active monitor to standby, when no audio signal has been detected for some time. When it receives an audio signal again, the loudspeaker turns back on. ISS is fully compliant with the latest EU requirements and the ErP 2013 Directive for electronic devices.
Each monitor features a 105 mm (4 inch) bass driver along with a 19 mm (3/4 inch) tweeter loaded into a new advanced Genelec Directivity Controlled Waveguide (DCW™). The free field frequency response is 66 Hz to 20 kHz (± 2.5 dB). Maximum peak SPL output per pair with music material is 105 dB at 1 m. Bass and treble are each powered by 20 watt amplifiers.
8020C can be combined with the 7050B Laminar Spiral Enclosure (LSE™) subwoofer to provide a powerful, bass-managed and wide bandwidth surround sound monitoring system.
The 8020C has a die-cast aluminium Minimum Diffraction Enclosure (MDE™), which features relatively large internal volumes; softly curved edges and outstanding mechanical strength.
As a result, the imaging accuracy and low frequency extension with such a compact enclosure are truly astounding.
The 8020C also incorporates the advanced Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW™), which provides an amazingly smooth on and off axis response; while the long, curved reflex port ends in a wide flare for excellent bass articulation.
Intelligent Signal Sensing Powersave Mode
Intelligent Signal-Sensing technology from Genelec has been developed to meet with both European Union ErP Directives and the company’s own wider sustainability commitments. This new technology will be applied to the entire catalogue of Genelec loudspeakers to minimise energy waste and significantly reduce power consumption when items are left in standby mode.
Upon entering the low-power sleep state, power feed is removed from most of the electronic parts of the system and, crucially no heat is generated. When an audio signal is later detected on the input, the loudspeaker amplifier immediately turns itself on, silently, and immediately continues working with full accuracy.
The ISS monitoring system starts saving power as soon as work is interrupted. The setup is fully automated, meaning end-users do not need to remember to turn loudspeakers off for the ISS circuitry to save power. This new system not only presents environmental benefits but is also good for the safe running and the long term reliability of Genelec loudspeakers
