Much like the instruments that they derive from, ESP Viper guitars are constructed from Mahogany, with a set/set-thru design used to pair their bodies and necks. An all-Mahogany design yields a rich tone with plenty of low-end depth, serving as an excellent tonal foundation for powerful humbuckers.
Speaking of pickups, most ESP LTD Viper models come equipped with active EMGs. Delivering an aggressive yet balanced tone, these pickups are truly in their element when used with copious amounts of high-gain. The more affordable LTD 200 series Vipers are fitted with ESP-designed passive humbuckers instead, which are still plenty potent.
