Product Description
The BOSS DS-1X takes the iconic orange distortion sound and propels it into the modern age, using cutting-edge digital processing to deliver huge gain, razor-sharp clarity and an ultra-responsive feel. From tight, percussive rhythm tones to saturated lead sounds that sing right across the fretboard, this special edition pedal gives you studio-polished distortion in a simple stompbox format.
Powered by BOSS Multi-Dimensional Processing (MDP) and high-speed DSP, the DS-1X constantly analyses your playing in real time and optimises the sound for every note you hit. Low strings stay tight and punchy, high notes remain full and vocal, and complex chords retain definition even with serious gain on tap. If you want a distortion that feels instantly dialled-in and works effortlessly with your touch, this is it.
Despite its advanced engine, the DS-1X is as straightforward to use as any classic BOSS pedal. Level, Low, High and Dist controls give you a familiar layout, but under the surface each knob is shaping multiple parameters at once, so it is almost impossible to get a bad sound. You get everything from edge-of-breakup crunch to modern high-gain saturation, with very low noise and exceptional clarity at every setting.
Finished with exclusive chrome hardware and backed up by BOSS’s renowned five-year warranty, the DS-1X is built to withstand years of gigging. Whether you are upgrading from a traditional distortion or looking for a versatile, high-definition drive to anchor your entire rig, this pedal delivers future-facing tone without sacrificing the simplicity players love.
High-Definition Distortion Across the Fretboard
The DS-1X delivers distortion that stays focused and musical wherever you play on the neck. Tight, crisp low-end response keeps riffs articulate, while upper-register notes remain thick and singing, making it ideal for both rhythm and lead work.
Advanced MDP Technology with Real-Time Processing
Using BOSS Multi-Dimensional Processing, the DS-1X analyses your playing dynamics, register and note content as you play. It then optimises the response for each note or chord, avoiding the muddiness and boominess that can plague traditional analogue distortion circuits.
Effortless Tone Shaping with Intelligent Controls
The Level, Low, High and Dist knobs control multiple internal parameters simultaneously, giving you sophisticated tone shaping with a simple interface. Every setting sounds refined and usable, from crunchy rhythm to saturated lead tones.
Ultra-Responsive Feel with Low Noise
The DS-1X reacts sensitively to picking dynamics and guitar volume changes, letting you clean up or push harder without touching the pedal. Its finely tuned digital engine also keeps noise to a minimum, even at high-gain settings.
Features
- Next-Level Distortion Tone - Advanced processing delivers a high-clarity distortion sound that stays tight and defined, from low-string riffs to soaring leads, so your playing always cuts through the mix.

- Intuitive Yet Powerful Controls - Level, Low, High and Dist knobs each adjust multiple internal parameters at once, making it easy to dial in everything from subtle crunch to modern high-gain saturation with minimal tweaking.
- Premium Build and Low Noise - A robust BOSS chassis, exclusive chrome hardware and very low noise performance ensure the DS-1X is ready for the stage or studio, backed up by a BOSS five-year warranty.
