Behringer ECM8000-U - Calibrated Measurement Microphone

The Behringer ECM8000-U is a calibrated USB measurement microphone designed to give you precise, repeatable acoustic measurements straight into your computer. With an ultra-linear frequency response, true omnidirectional pickup and plug-and-play USB connectivity, it is ideal for room correction, live sound tuning, car audio setup and accurate monitor alignment in project and professional studios alike.

Because the ECM8000-U connects directly via USB, you can skip external interfaces and preamps and go straight into your measurement software on Windows, Mac or Linux. This makes it a compact, reliable solution for engineers, producers and installers who need trustworthy data on how their speakers and rooms are really behaving, whether you are optimising a home studio, fine-tuning a PA system or balancing a custom car audio install.

Its very flat response ensures that what your analysis software sees is the room and the system, not the microphone. Combined with its omnidirectional capsule, the ECM8000-U captures sound evenly from all directions, giving you an accurate picture of reflections, resonances and frequency balance. This lets you make confident EQ and placement decisions that translate to better mixes and more consistent sound from venue to venue.

Supplied with a microphone clamp and a protective zippered case, the ECM8000-U is ready to drop into your toolkit as a dedicated measurement mic. Whether you are just getting into room calibration or you are an experienced engineer looking for a convenient USB solution, it offers a practical, cost-effective way to raise the accuracy of your entire monitoring chain.

Ultra-linear measurement tool

The ECM8000-U is built as a precision measurement instrument, with an ultra-linear frequency response tailored for analysis rather than flattering sound. This accuracy means your measurement software receives clean, unbiased data, so any corrections you apply are based on what is actually happening in the room or system.

True omnidirectional pickup

A genuine omnidirectional polar pattern allows the microphone to capture sound evenly from all directions. This is crucial for acoustic measurement, as it reveals room reflections, standing waves and overall tonal balance without favouring a particular angle, helping you diagnose and correct issues more effectively.

USB plug-and-play convenience

With direct USB connectivity, the ECM8000-U connects straight to Windows, Mac or Linux systems without the need for an external audio interface. This simplifies your measurement rig, reduces potential points of failure and makes it easy to move between locations with a minimal, laptop-based setup.

Ready for calibration on the go

The included microphone clamp and zippered carrying case make it simple to transport and deploy the ECM8000-U wherever you need it. From studios and rehearsal rooms to live venues and vehicles, you can quickly mount the mic, run your measurements and pack it away again with confidence.

• Ultra-linear USB measurement microphone - Designed specifically for acoustic analysis and system calibration, the ECM8000-U delivers a very flat response so your readings reflect the room and speakers, helping you apply precise EQ and placement adjustments.
• True omnidirectional capsule - Captures sound accurately from all directions, giving your measurement software a complete picture of reflections and resonances for more reliable room tuning and system optimisation.
• USB plug-and-play for Windows, Mac and Linux - Connects directly to your computer without extra hardware, streamlining your measurement setup and making it easy to run calibration sessions in different locations.
• Includes clamp and carrying case - Supplied with a microphone clamp for secure mounting and a zippered case for protection and portability, so the mic is always ready for your next calibration job.
