Product Description
The Audient Horizon 16 is a professional 34-in / 34-out Thunderbolt 3 audio interface designed to sit at the heart of a modern hybrid studio. With 16 channels of high-headroom line I/O on DB25, pristine 32-bit conversion at 133dB dynamic range and ultra-low 0.99ms round-trip latency, it keeps your entire outboard rack permanently patched while delivering transparent, detailed audio to and from your DAW.
Built for engineers who live in the world of compressors, EQs, summing mixers and native plug-ins, Horizon 16 gives you a dedicated stereo mix-bus path for printing your master, plus independent monitor outputs for critical reference listening. Horizon Control software ties everything together with virtual patching, flexible monitoring and deep metering, so you can focus on the mix rather than the wiring.
Hybrid Studio Centrepiece
Horizon 16 is purpose-built to be the central hub of a hybrid workflow. Sixteen channels of line-level I/O over four DB25 connectors mean you can leave your analogue rack fully normalled, ready to insert hardware on stems, buses or the mix without repatching. A dedicated stereo mix-bus input lets you route your final analogue chain straight back into the DAW, keeping your main 16 channels free for creative routing and processing.
Flagship Conversion and Latency
With 32-bit / 192kHz conversion and a massive 133dB dynamic range, Horizon 16 captures every nuance of your outboard and instruments with exceptional clarity. Your analogue returns come back exactly as they left, with no unwanted colour or compromise. Combined with a round-trip latency as low as 0.99ms at 192kHz with a 64-sample buffer, it keeps native plug-ins feeling immediate and responsive, even in complex sessions.
Flexible Monitoring and Control
Dedicated stereo monitor outputs give you an independent, always-available path for your main speakers, while advanced monitor control functions such as mono, polarity, dim and reference level switching are built in. Horizon Control software acts as a powerful virtual patch bay, handling routing, custom monitor mixes and extensive metering from a single, intuitive panel so you can quickly adapt to any session or client requirement.
Expandable, Scalable System
Dual ADAT I/O provides up to 16 channels of digital expansion, ideal for adding extra preamps or converters when needed. As your studio grows, Horizon 16 grows with it: you can daisy-chain up to four Horizon units on a single driver, creating a system with up to 200 inputs and 200 outputs. All of this is housed in a robust 1U all-metal chassis with a three-year warranty, ready for demanding studio environments.
Features
- 16-Channel Line I/O on DB25 - Four DB25 connectors provide 16-in / 16-out of primary line-level connectivity, letting you keep compressors, EQs, reverbs and summing mixers permanently patched so you can work faster and more creatively without constant repatching.
- 32-bit Conversion with 133dB Dynamic Range - High-spec 32-bit / 192kHz converters deliver an ultra-wide dynamic range of 133dB, ensuring your analogue gear and mixes are captured with exceptional detail, headroom and transparency for truly professional results.
- Dedicated Mix-Bus and Monitor Paths - A dedicated stereo mix-bus input lets you print your final master back into the DAW while keeping all 16 line channels free, and separate stereo monitor outputs provide independent reference listening with built-in monitor control tools.
- Scalable Thunderbolt 3 Architecture - Thunderbolt 3 connectivity delivers low-latency performance and the ability to daisy-chain up to four Horizon units on a single driver, giving you a system maximum of 200 in and 200 out that can grow alongside your studio.
