Sounds

Under the hood, the Digitakt possesses eight audio tracks, assignable to any sample or 400-plus factory sounds. Drums, percussion, synths are all at your disposal, and you can tinker with them to your heart’s content. The built-in effects give the Digitakt its own unique sound, with reverb, delay, envelope filters, modulation, bit reduction and overdrive to spice up your tracks.

You have a huge 64MB RAM and 1GB of storage to play with when saving projects and storing up to 128 samples.

The latest firmware update implements the available factory presets with 32 new patterns and 64 new sounds. Moreover, you’ll get more control over the pitch of your samples, thanks to the extended range on the tone knob. 

Real-Time Alteration

Live performance is where the Digitakt comes into its own. Drop tracks in and out in real-time, line up new beats at the end of a bar, record as you go and add effects that remain applied to audio until you choose to return the track to its original settings. 

Adjust your groove as and when with one press of a button using micro timing. Release and it returns to the original spacing. Digitakt also contains endless sound-shaping and modulation options. You now have 2 LFOs, to modulate more than one parameter at a time and create more diverse results. An array of effects is also at your fingertips to create crashing crescendos of bit reduction, flooded reverb, pitch changes and more in grand fashion.

The all-new Global FX Mix menu option will let you select which effects will process your entire pattern rather than each individual track. 

Improved Save/Reload Pattern Options

Thanks to the 1.30 firmware update, you can now save and reload patterns in an easier way, without compromising the saved project. From the pattern menu you’ll be able to save or reload patterns directly from the drive plus saved project. This means you can use the quick save/reload operations to work with the pattern in a way that's not destructive for the saved project. The operations will now also work for unsaved and write-protected projects.

Build Quality

The Digitakt packs massive amounts of features into a small frame. Its rugged, neatly laid-out design is easier to navigate than meets the eye. The back-lit buttons and infinity dials are made to the highest quality and will hold up to thousands of clicks. An old school OLED screen displays any effects, editing and selections you make.

As you’ve come to expect from a premium drum machine, the Digitakt is equipped with MIDI ins and outs, left and right inputs and outputs and a headphone slot for silent playing.
