Product Description

When pedalboard space is tight and you still need all the core sounds, the Summer School Electronics School Lunch puts four essential effects into one compact, gig-ready box. Combining fuzz, distortion, delay and boost based on the brand’s most popular circuits, it gives you a complete tonal toolkit that fits easily into a backpack or carry-on and runs from a standard 9V centre-negative power supply.

Whether you are flying to a gig, heading to a rehearsal or just do not want to haul your full board to a jam, the School Lunch keeps your sound covered. From saturated vintage fuzz and articulate high-gain distortion to spacious repeats and a punchy solo boost, it is designed to slot in at the front of your chain and deliver inspiring tones for multiple genres with minimal setup.

Four Essential Effects in One Pedal

The School Lunch brings together four workhorse effects in a single enclosure, streamlining your rig without sacrificing versatility. You get dedicated sections for fuzz, distortion, delay and boost, each voiced to cover a wide range of styles. Instead of juggling multiple pedals and patch cables, you can build your core sound around one compact unit that is easy to transport and quick to dial in on stage.

Classic Two-Transistor Fuzz

At the front of the School Lunch is a two-transistor fuzz circuit loaded with BC108 transistors, complete with volume, fuzz and bias controls. The bias knob lets you fine-tune the character from smooth and saturated to gated and spluttery, making it ideal for everything from thick stoner riffs to broken-up garage tones. For the best response and clean-up from your guitar’s volume control, Summer School Electronics recommend placing the School Lunch first in your signal chain or before any buffered pedals.

Trash Panda High-Gain Distortion

The distortion section is based on Summer School Electronics’ Trash Panda circuit, a high-gain, all-purpose drive voiced as a tighter, more controlled alternative to classic muff-style fuzz. With volume, drive and tone controls, it can move from crunchy rhythm sounds to saturated leads while retaining note definition. It is voiced to feel more like a powerful overdrive than a loose fuzz, making it a great foundation for modern rock and heavier styles.

Snow Day Inspired Delay and Extra Credit Boost

For ambience and space, the delay circuit is a simplified take on the Snow Day Delay, with mix, delay and repeat controls. You can set anything from short slapback echoes to longer, atmospheric repeats, and decide how long the echoes continue before fading out. Rounding out the pedal is a transistor boost based on the Extra Credit Boost, offering a single, straightforward control to push your amp, lift solos or add an extra gain stage in front of the other effects.

Features
  • Four Core Effects in a Compact Enclosure - Fuzz, distortion, delay and boost are all housed in one pedal, giving you a complete core rig without filling your board. Ideal for fly dates, grab-and-go setups or players who want maximum flexibility with minimal gear.
  • BC108 Two-Transistor Fuzz with Bias Control - The fuzz section uses classic BC108 transistors and offers volume, fuzz and bias controls, letting you shape everything from smooth sustain to gated, sputtering textures. Placing it first in your chain helps it interact dynamically with your guitar’s volume and pickups.
  • Trash Panda High-Gain Distortion Circuit - Based on the Trash Panda, the distortion delivers a high-gain, all-purpose voice that is often described as a less muffy muff. With volume, drive and tone on tap, it covers tight rock crunch through to saturated leads while staying more drive-like than fuzz-like.
  • Snow Day Style Delay and Extra Credit Boost - The delay section, inspired by the Snow Day Delay, provides intuitive control over mix, delay time and repeats for anything from subtle slapback to expansive echoes. The Extra Credit style transistor boost offers a simple one-knob way to raise your level for solos or push your amp and other effects harder.
