Product Description
The Deep Space Pulsar was an incredibly popular pedal for the London-based boutique boffins at Rainger FX. Now the mad sidechainer tremolo returns as the new and improved Binary Pulsar: all your spacey panning effects in stereo!
There was only so much you could do with the mini pedal format Rainger FX were using before. The Binary Pulsar has more room to get creative. It now contains a full suite of controls to tinker with the tremolo, plus wacky additions like momentary flange distortion and quacky resonant filter to twist your tremolo into something new and exciting.
Wildly creative effects - more than a basic tremolo
It’s completely in your hands how wild you set the Binary Pulsar. There’s built-in distortion to crunch things up in flanger style as you need by pressing down on the big pad on the right-hand side of the pedal. On the back, the ‘warm’ button engages a cool overdrive circuit to insert a touch of grit to your tone. The ‘invert’ flips the whole effect on its head to give you more of a slicer feel than a tremolo.
Massive stereo options
You’ll be able to maximise the Binary Pulsar by setting it up for stereo. The effect sounds truly huge as it flicks between the stereo pan – the ‘wide’ control sets the panning for larger separation.
Intuitive tremolo controls
You’ve got the choice to punch in quarter notes, eights, 12s, 16s and 32s on the standard ‘ducking’ tremolo effect. The ‘hold’ dial sets the length the sound dips out for, ranging from extremely subtle to a harsh EDM style start and stop. The ‘release’ controls how gradual or sharp the volume kicks in following the tremolo dip.
Amazing integration
The pedal has correctible tap tempo to dip the volume in time with an external beat sent from a drum machine or synth. You’ve got full control over it with CV gate input, plus an XLR socket to hook up a microphone for external audio sources like drums to trigger the effect.
Whether floor mounted for guitarists or set up on a desk, the Binary Pulsar is an amazing addition for the curious musician in live or recording settings!

Can you change the amount of dip?
Only by decreasing the 'hold' knob; at that end of its travel it doesn’t have a long enough ‘hold’ for the dip to fully reach silence (this is a great way to save on knobs!)
Does the Binary Pulsar have MIDI control?
No it doesn’t.

127mm at its widest point, 134mm deep, and 66mm high.
What is the current draw?
165mA.
What happens if I use the pedal in mono - with one amp?
Then both outputs are summed together and sent to the left output.
