It's the best way to ensure your Pro Tools software remains up to date and provides you with tech support from Avid's advisors. 

You will not be able to use Pro Tools after the 12 month subscription has expired. To carry on with your subscription, you'll have to pay monthly or purchase another 12 month plan.
