The Sadowsky Metro Express 21-fret PJ bass gives you the best of both sonic worlds. Loaded with Sadowsky P and J bass pickups, you’ll receive an incredible tone that bridges the gap between both styles of classic bass guitars – making this bass a perfect workhorse that suits a variety of different playing styles and genres.

The body is constructed using Okoume for a lightweight and deeply resonant, that gives you the perfect balance between articulate and warm. Combined with the bolt-on Roasted Maple neck, you’ll experience a snappy and crisp response, perfect for slap bass or funk styles of playing. The Sadowsky MetroExpress SMX incorporates all their signature features from their dearer lines and encompasses them into an instrument you can be proud of playing that is lightweight to hold, and versatile in sound.

What is the MetroExpress SMX range?

Roger Sadowsky's name has long been synonymous with the finest in quality instruments and innovations from his world-renowned and highly respected NYC workshop. So it was no surprise his export series basses, the Sadowsky ‘MetroExpress' series, would tap into that rich Sadowsky heritage and came packed with many unique features setting them apart in the marketplace, like lightweight Okume body woods, Roger Sadowsky's own premium quality electronics, circuits, and noise cancelling pickups - as well as left-handed/fretless versions with no extra charge.

This did not stop Roger from seeking improvements, revamping and relaunching the new Sadowsky MetroExpress (SMX) series Basses at the very end of 2023. They're now loaded with many more features that set them apart, such as roasted Maple necks, lightweight string retainer, 'ball end' frets as standard, and premium quality pro-series gig-bags. One small but very important detail to Roger is that the new SMX Basses all proudly display the 'Sadowsky' name badge!
