Alternative Body Guitars

Although the Gibson Les Paul and Fender Stratocaster are two of the most iconic electric guitars on the planet, these immensely favoured guitars are used by a countless amount of players. But for some guitarists, the temptation to get something that has a bit more of an original character can be appealing, and this is the place to find them!

Although many alternative guitars derive closely from these iconic instruments in terms of their electronics and hardware, with more diverse aesthetics, you can find something that is perhaps a closer fit to your specific style. Renowned in their own right, Fender’s offset series of instruments are popular for their angled body shapes, hence the name.

The Fender Jaguar is a key contender, featuring a pair of single-coil pickups and multiple tone-shaping switches, offering an enviable amount of versatility. The Fender Duo Sonic and Mustang guitars have a similar look, but with simpler control layouts and slimmer body shapes; the latter model of which was popularised by Kurt Cobain of Nirvana.

Reverend are another brand notorious for their offset designs, with their flagship Jetstream shape merging its 60s-inspired looks with modern hardware appointments to suit today's generation. Gretsch are also a brand that try to retain some old-school charm with their guitar designs. The Gretsch G5220 Electromatic Jet is a stunning instrument that boasts plenty of vibe, giving you super-sweet tones with clean settings or overdrive.

But if you’re looking for something that is more refined and high-end, Duesenberg build a range of gorgeous guitars with lots of vintage flavour. The Paloma is a notable model, with an old-school tremolo system and a flexible HSS pickup configuration.
