Product Description

Few guitars are as illustrious or coveted as "Greeny", an iconic 1959 Les Paul Standard that has been owned by some of rock's most influential guitar players. With a unique sound that's as recognisable as the guitar itself, "Greeny" was previously owned by Peter Green and used throughout his time with Fleetwood Mac. It was then later sold to Gary Moore, who used it for three decades with Thin Lizzy and as a solo artist, and now, "Greeny" is owned by Kirk Hammett of Metallica — passing through the hands of three legendary guitarists. Greeny's distinctive sound comes partly from the out-of-phase middle switch position, due to the neck pickup's reversed magnetic polarity.

The Gibson Kirk Hammett "Greeny" Les Paul Standard was inspired by this legendary guitar, and gives players around the world the opportunity to experience some of the magic of "Greeny" for themselves! An Original Series hardshell case is included.

Key Features

  • Mahogany Construction — This trusted tonewood (used for the body/neck) yields the thick and sustain-rich sound synonymous with Gibson guitars. It comes adorned with a stunning AAA figured Maple top.
  • Indian Rosewood Fingerboard — Smooth, silky and luxurious material (featuring 22 frets) offers stellar playability.
  • '50s Vintage Neck Shape — Old-school profile is thick and substantial for a supportive, traditional playing feel.
  • Greenybucker Pickups — Voiced to replicate the distinctive, highly sought-after tones of the original "Greeny".
  • Tune-O-Matic Bridge — Legendary Gibson design; easily-adjustable and maximises string vibration transference through the body.
  • Graph Tech Nut — Low-friction material minimises unwanted tuning slips and enhances sustain.
  • Included Hardshell Case — Perfectly protects the "Greeny" against knocks on the road!
