Product Description

The Chapman ML1 Modern Baritone Standard is a monstrous tone machine that's perfect for guitarists who want to explore the extended range; featuring a 28" scale optimised for drop tunings! This particular ML1 comes equipped with a pair of red-hot Chapman Sonorous Zerø humbuckers, and also boasts a stunning satin finish for an understated yet elegant aesthetic.

Top it off with a rolled-edge Ebony fingerboard, 24 jumbo frets, a Graph Tech TUSQ nut and stealthy black hardware across the board — and you've struck the perfect balance between versatility and attitude!

Key Features

  • Satin-Finished Maple "C" Neck — Traditional neck timber adds brightness into the sonic mix; boasting a comfortable "C" profile and a satin finish for ultra-fast playability.
  • Bolt-On Construction with Recessed Neck Joint — Yields a snappy tone for an immediate note response, with recessed heel joint enabling unrestricted upper-fret access.
  • Rolled-Edge Macassar Ebony Fingerboard — A luxurious and silky material with a stunning grain; enhanced with rolled edges for a smooth, played-in feel.
  • 24 Jumbo Frets — Large size offers a controllable feel under the fingers, for wide vibrato and pitch-perfect string bends.
  • Chapman Sonorous Zerø Humbucker Pickups — High-output humbuckers deliver immense power and clarity with plenty of punchy mid-range. Expect soaring sustain and crystal-clear highs, whether clean or distorted!
  • 3-Position Pickup Switch & Coil Split — Yields 6 different sounds in total for superb tonal versatility. Access 3 full humbucking tones as standard via the pickup switch, and engage the push/pull tone knob to split their coils for 3 additional single-coil sounds.
  • String-Through-Body Hardtail Bridge — Enhances sustain, with individual saddles allowing for precise action and intonation settings.
  • Chapman Locking Tuners — Ingenious locking mechanism makes restringing easier and means less string winds are required around the tuning posts; resulting a better tuning stability.
  • Graph Tech TUSQ Nut — Low-friction material minimises unwanted tuning slips.

Almost a 5 Star but I had to file two frets and polish them out. The frets were done amazingly, I think maybe from the trip to another continent and the wood changing something happened? Maybe not. Also the input jack was hanging by a thread. Had to tighten it up. Once I set it up a little it was great. I am not too keen on the bridge pick-up. I think it is hard to control the highs. Probably throw a Duncan in it, But it isnt horrible.
