Product Description

The Odyssey EOS-FM-R — an examplary electric guitar from FGN's top-of-the-line Expert Series — is a stunning S-style instrument that's packed with a raft of innovative, high-performance features. Crafted in Japan by FujiGen Gakki (a well-known stringed instrument manufacturer with more than 60 years of experience building guitars for the likes of Ibanez, Greco, Yamaha and Fender), you can feel assured that this truly is a high-quality "vintage-meets-modern" axe that's been designed to take your playing to the next level!

FGN's Expert Odyssey EOS-FM-R is a super-flexible workhorse guitar that will suit any player looking for stellar sonics and effortless playability. Not only does it sport a versatile set of proprietary HSS pickups and a beautifully-machined Gotoh tremolo, but it also boasts a compound radius fingerboard, a heavily-recessed "Moonsault" neck heel/cutaway, luminous side dots, locking tuners, and FGN's ingenious 'Circle Fretting System'. These are features which really give the Expert Odyssey a contemporary edge over the competition.

Key Features

  • Ash Body — A popular timber that's been used for electric guitars ever since the '50s, providing a balanced sound with rich low-end warmth and bell-like highs. Comes adorned with a beautiful flamed Maple top.
  • Quartersawn Maple "U"-Shaped Neck — The Odyssey EOS-FM-R's neck is shaped to a "U" profile, making it suitable for players after a more traditional and supportive feel. The carved "Moonsault" heel cutaway enables stress-free access to the highest frets.
  • Circle Fretting System (C.F.S.) — An FGN innovation that's intended to offer better pitch and articulation than conventional guitars and basses. All frets are installed in a slightly curved shape, to ensure that each string and fret intersect at right angles. This minimises the contact surface and makes the scale length of every string even; allowing you to obtain more accurate pitch, longer sustain, and true harmonics.
  • 10-14" Compound Radius Fingerboard — This ergonomic fingerboard radius is slightly rounded at the lower end of the neck to make chords easier to fret, and flattens out the higher you go so that fast passages feel much easier to play. This forward-thinking design also helps to prevent string bends from fretting out!
  • Expert Fret Edge Treatment — The 22 medium-sized frets have undergone FGN's 'Expert Fret Edge Treatment', which means that the fret edges have been elegantly rolled to provide a smooth and effortless "played-in" feel.
  • Luminous (Glow-in-the-Dark) Side Dots — Make it easy for you to see the fingerboard position marks when performing on dark stages.
  • FGN HSS Pickups — Give you a range of thick humbucking and jangly single-coil tones, making for an extremely flexible guitar when combined with the 5-position pickup selector switch.
  • "Double Tricky" Mini Toggle Switches — Even more tone-shaping potential lies in the two mini switches. The right toggle allows you to split the bridge humbucker for that classic S-sype "snap", while the left toggle bypasses whichever position the 5-way selector switch is set at so that you can default to the bridge pickup at just the flick of a switch!
  • Gotoh 510TS-FE1 Tremolo — Enables you to embellish chords and lead lines with tasteful vibrato, with the trem-up route letting you raise the pitch too! Features steel saddles and a steel tremolo block for a quick response and exquisite articulation.
  • Gotoh SD91-05M Magnum Lock Tuners — Locking design secures the strings to makes changes fast and hassle-free, while improving overall tuning stability (as less wraps are required around the tuning posts).
  • Included Hard Case — Easily transport the FGN Expert Odyssey to your next show or jam session with the robust, included hard case.
