Product Description

The FGN Boundary Mighty Jazz BMJ-R is a superb J-style bass with a modern twist — blending traditional and familiar design characteristics with innovative, present-day features. Crafted in Japan by FujiGen Gakki (a well-known stringed instrument manufacturer with more than 60 years of experience building guitars for the likes of Ibanez, Greco, Yamaha and Fender), you can feel assured that this truly is a high-quality, performance-centric machine!

Boasting reliable hardware, versatile single-coil pickups, and a comfy Basswood body with a bolt-on "U"-shaped Maple neck, the Mighty Jazz BMJ-R also sports an ergonomically-rounded neck heel and FGN's ingenious 'Circle Fretting System' — features which really give this bass a contemporary edge. If you're seeking classic J-style tones combined with 21st Century playability, all at an affordable price-point to boot, then you'll absolutely love this unique "vintage-meets-modern" bass guitar!

Key Features

  • Contoured Basswood Body — A light/medium-weight material that produces a balanced and full sound. It comes enhanced with a deep belly-cut and rounded neck heel for improved playing comfort.
  • Maple "U"-Shaped Neck — Inspired by early '50s "Golden Era" guitars and basses, the Mighty Jazz's neck is shaped to a "U" profile that makes it suitable for players after a supportive feel. Comes adorned with a silky-smooth Rosewood fingerboard.
  • Circle Fretting System (C.F.S.) — An FGN innovation that's intended to offer better pitch and articulation than conventional guitars and basses. All frets are installed in a slightly curved shape, to ensure that each string and fret intersect at right angles. This minimises the contact surface and makes the scale length of every string even; allowing you to obtain more accurate pitch, longer sustain, and true harmonics.
  • FGN JBD Pickups — Versatile J-style single-coils deliver the punch and definition you'd come to expect from "jazz-inspired" basses, with independent volume controls allowing you to blend between the bridge and neck pickups and the tone control letting you roll off the highs.
  • Included Gig Bag — Easily transport the FGN Mighty Jazz BMJ-R to your next show or jam session with the robust, included soft case!
