    Product Description

Ibanez want every one of their guitars and basses to provide massive value to the user. From their budget Gio range all the way up to their high end prestige model everything that comes out of their factory is high quality. The SR300 may sit at the budget end but you will not believe the versatile range of tones available thanks to the new PowerSpan pickups and active preamp.

    Performance Based Design

No one wants to play an uncomfortable instrument and Ibanez knows this. The SR range of basses are slim, lightweight and are carved carefully to sit close for extra comfort. They also use extremely slim necks that are unlike any other bass you may have played. The entire point of this design is that it is non restrictive, it does not get in the way of you being the best player you can possibly be.

    Versatile Electronics

No one wants to be locked down to their style due to their instrument. That is part of what makes this bass so good for the money. Not only do you have a set of brand new PowerSpan humbucking pickups with open poles but you also have Ibanez's own custom 3 band EQ with power tap switch. That switch is the real magic as it lets you go from humbucking (modern) to single coil (traditional) sounds instantly and even lets you access an enhanced single coil mode which punches up the low end.

Here's what Ibanez say about the SR300EB

With its continued popularity, Ibanez has been keeping a constant effort to improve the SR series, answering the wider needs of a variety of players at a variety of budgets. Ibanez is now proud to announce huge upgrades to the SR300 series. The New PowerSpan Dual Coil pickups with exposed pole pieces provide high output with more clarity than ever. A 3-way power tap system  on the Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ creates 3 tonal options; Humbucking, Single coil, and Low-end enhanced single coil. This allows for much more versatility. Along with the new upgraded tonal options, the great staples of the SR line have been preserved; smooth and fast neck, lightweight body and supreme comfortability. All of these specs combine to create a truly impressive bass available at a great price.

First ever guitar but the body shape means it doesn’t sit too well on your lap as it slips. Other than that I love the colour and look

Lovely looking bass, well made with no cosmetic issues. Colour is a lot richer red than in the picture which is great. Product got great reviews on a number of sites and this product lived up to that expectation. Needed a little set up when arrived, which I expected to do anyway (the action and relief were in spec, but just a little fret buzz near the nut on E and A strings which a small truss adjustment fixed. Slight raising of the bass side strings needed but more for personal playing taste). Sounds very powerful especially with slight bass eq and full use of humbuckers. Love the coil split too which offers a nice clearer tone for playing near the headstock where notes can be more muddy. Having moved over from a heavy, wide necked JB style this bass is really comfy to play. I dont gig but play DI into a a focusrite/pro tools set up for home music (beatles, floyd and blues style stuff, with pick and fingered) and this base looks and sounds fantastic for the money.

Feels great to play, sounds great and looks great. Really nice guitar and unbelievable value for the price. Went with Ibanez due to their rigorous inspection process for all of their products. However, saying that the set up on my guitar wasn’t done particularly well. I hope this guitar lasts many years to come.

Great bass guitar for the cost. But hard to find the "right" sound with the electronic eq settings... Missing some loud bassy sound maybe...
