    Product Description

When you say analogue synth, you say Sequential. Their latest creation is Take 5, a polyphonic analogue synthesiser that promises to be a staple for iconic sounds over the coming years.

An extremely powerful tool in your arsenal, the Take 5 is a 5-voice Poly Synth with 2 VCOs and a sub oscillator per voice, a classic 4-pole resonant analogue filter from the Prophet-5 rev 4 design, 44 full-size keys on a premium Fatar keybed. The synth's key-split feature allows you to divide the 3.5 octave keyboard into two different zones. To top it all off, you will have access to dual digital effects and FM synthesis, to experience all the nuances of Sequential power, from vintage to modern

All of Sequential in one Synth

The Take 5 was designed for all those who haven't had the chance to experience Sequential's analog legacy so far. It packs up many of the features that made Sequential a leader in the field, like Prophet-5 Rev 4 design's 4-pole filter, per-voice LFOs and a polyphonic 64 steps sequencer.

    A Powerful Sound Engine

The Take 5 is based on 2 voltage-controlled oscillators that provide all traditional wave shapes like saw, sine and pulse wave that you can model and enrich with the additional FM engine. The iconic filter shapes the oscillator and sub oscillator sound in classic fashion, while the Drive control adds some fantastic grit to it. Sequential also added a Vintage knob that adds variation to the filter, oscillators and envelope behaviour from voice to voice.

Take 5 also includes two LFOs, one global and one per-voice, ADSR and delay envelopes, dual digital effects (a dedicated reverb and a suite of time-delay and other effects) a separate additional overdrive effect, and extensive modulation possibilities.

If this wasn't enough, you can also enjoy a 64-step sequencer and a multimode arpeggiator.

    • Two analog VCOs per voice
    • Continuously variable wave shape (sine, sawtooth, variable-width pulse) per oscillator
    • Hard sync: oscillator 1 syncs to oscillator 2
    • Square wave sub-octave generator (oscillator 1) per voice
    • Keyboard tracking on/off for each oscillator
    • Front-panel FM (frequency modulation)

    • Oscillator 1 amount
    • Oscillator 1 sub-octave amount

    • Velocity modulation of each envelope amount
    • Envelopes freely assignable to multiple modulation destinations

    Low Frequency Oscillators

    • Five wave shapes: triangle, sawtooth, reverse sawtooth, square, and random (sample and hold)

This synthesiser is precisely what I was looking for - a rich sound, intuitive, hands-on subtractive synthesis, all the I/O I need for either DAWless or DAW-supported creation, and at its core a massively fun instrument to make the music that suits me.

My first synth and it's taking some learning but it feels solid, sounds good, packed with features for a not-stupid price. The factory patches are great but there is a lot to learn to get the most out of it. It would be nice if it came with a hard copy manual rather than having to download a PDF.

Really great value for money and dedicated controls for everything you'd want in a performance synth

Owned a pro5 rev3.3 and pro 1 back in the 80's. Bought this on impulse as Andertons were showing stock early Sept. All I can say is this has the Sequential attitude and sound, I have been absorbed in it for hours at a time. Some debate about whether it is pure analogue when you bypass the effects, but to my ears it sounds wonderful with or without the effects on. I am running it from a Roland Jupiter 80 as the 44 note keyboard is good, the full width of the Roland just makes it even nicer. Took the punt that it would have polyphonic aftertouch over midi and it does so a Hydrasynth XL is now on santa's list! There is a good thing about the small format of the Take 5, it is easy to smuggle it into the house without she who must be obeyed noticing another bl**dy keyboard.
