In the late '70s, Leo Fender was looking forward to launch his new 'G&L' brand that would feature his latest innovations — including the 'Magnetic Field Design' pickup and 'Saddle-Lock' bridge, which are now staple appointments on most G&L instruments. Leo originally developed these technologies at his CLF Research company, and production of the new G&L instruments took place in the CLF factory on Fender Avenue in Fullerton, California — where G&L production continues today!
The CLF Research L-2000 is a modern take on the "2k" that pays homage to its roots, with classic details including the early CLF/G&L headstock and neck profile, beautifully-reproduced CLF knobs, and the distinctive '81 control plate with colour-coded mini toggle switch tips.
At the heart of the G&L CLF Research L-2000 bass is a pair of the aforementioned MFD ('Magnetic Field Design') humbuckers, which are backed by the flexible 'Tri-Tone' preamp — a proprietary system that provides an incredible amount of sonic legroom. What's more, the L-2000 boasts the rock-solid 'Saddle-Lock' bridge that transfers string energy right into the body for brilliant resonance!

- Tri-Tone Active Preamp — Features a trio of mini toggles for pickup selection, series/parallel signal routing and active/passive operation, as well as a trifecta of knobs for volume, treble and bass. This system offers amazing versatility for any playing style, from poppin' funk to high-tech-fusion and aggressive metal!
- G&L 'Saddle-Lock' Bridge — Features a small Allen screw on the side of the unit, which presses all of the string saddles together so that they resonate as though they were one single mass; resulting in increased sustain.

How do I use instant finance?
It's simple! Just add the products you want to your basket and click the "Checkout" button in your basket. Go through the checkout process and tick the "Finance" option under "Select Your Payment Method". You can then choose which finance term you'd like to apply for, and change your deposit if you wish.
At the end of the checkout you'll be taken to the V12 Finance web site. This is where your finance application is processed. Assuming your application is accepted you'll be able to place your deposit and confirm your order right there.
Then, your order will come through to Andertons and we'll send you the goods. Get approval before 3pm and we'll send your order out the same working day (stock permitting) for next working day delivery!
Who can apply for finance?
You must: spend over £300, be at least 18 years of age, have been a UK resident for 3 years or more, be able to make repayments by Direct Debit, be in regular employment (minimum of 16 hours per week) including self-employment, or in permanent residence with your partner who is in regular employment.
