The Custom 24 is the definitive PRS guitar. Unveiled at the 1985 NAMM Show, this stellar six-string was PRS’ very first production model and it remains their most popular instrument even today. Distinctive for its flying bird fingerboard inlays, dual humbuckers, 24 frets and ergonomic contours; the Custom 24 is considered a modern classic among guitarists.
To celebrate its 35th Anniversary, PRS has unveiled a limited edition Custom 24 model for each of its main product ranges: Core, S2 and SE. Making these gorgeous guitars available at every price-point, the SE 35th Anniversary Custom 24 is the most affordable option of the bunch; with less than 3,000 of the Faded Blue Burst model available.
Capturing the foundational elements of the iconic Custom 24 design, the PRS 35th Anniversary SE also adds the musical functionality of the PRS Paul’s Guitar - creating a new, super-versatile platform!
Body & Neck
PRS' 35th Anniversary SE Custom 24 boasts a Mahogany body, delivering a warm sound with plenty of harmonic richness in the mid-range. Adorned with a stunning Figured Maple top veneer top, this instrument's beauty is guaranteed to inspire you to pick it up and play for hours on end.
Joining the body is a bright-sounding 3-piece Maple neck carved to PRS' contemporary "Wide Thin" profile. While the material adds plenty of top-end snap to give notes more immediacy, the unique neck carve provides an incredibly modern and playable feel. The neck is also topped with a silky smooth Rosewood fingerboard that offers a luxurious touch under the fingers.
Hardware & Electronics
Although this particular model may be a part of the affordable SE line, PRS spared no expense when it came to the instrument's hardware and electronics. The PRS Patented Molded Tremolo keeps things solid, with its beautifully-machined design offering a comfy feel and a smooth vibrato arm action. At the other end of the guitar you’ll find a set of PRS-designed tuners that'll keep your tuning super-stable too.
The PRS 35th Anniversary SE Custom 24 features TCI “S” Treble and Bass pickups with two mini-toggle switches that allow you to put either or both pickups in humbucking or true single-coil mode. The clarity and unique tones of these vintage-inspired pickups are both big and nuanced, so that you can easily find your tonal sweet spot.
