Product Description

Flexibility is key for the modern day bass player and the Richter range is perfect at adapting to your every genre or style. Suitable for seasoned professionals or new beginners, the Richter bass range offers premium quality bass tones that resonate beautifully. Whatever your requirements you can be sure that the Richter range will consistently deliver fantastic results.

Here's what Laney say about the RB3:

The RB3 is a 65 Watts RMS kickback design bass combo, loaded with a custom 12" driver & horn. Suitable for practice, recording, rehearsal or small gigs.

The clean ergonomic preamp is packed with everything you need to get a great bass sound: High or Normal input choices can be selected to match the type of bass used, on-board compressor adds punch and tone can be further tweaked via a powerful 3 band EQ with a parametric mid. Including an FX-loop, AUX in, Headphone socket and XLR DI, the RB3 houses all the connection options needed for practice, recording, rehearsal or gigs.

Dual Position Cabinet

The amplifier can be used in two orientations depending on the requirements. Rather than being used in the conventional upright mode, If the amplifier is to be used up close to the player, then the amplifier can be used in a “kicked back” orientation, meaning that the amps output is directed more towards a player’s ears.

Massive upgrade on small practice amp, but small enough for home use, where 'lean back' position is perfect. Low end is thick, tweakable mids very handy and DI and FX connections provide good versatility. Can't wait to crank it up properly. Seems very well built and sturdy, and maybe a minor point, but the matt black knobs mean you can always see what they're pointing at, rather than those shiny chrome ones.

I am very impressed with the RB3. It sounds great - a full, rich sound, well defined in the mids and tops, and with an extended bass that I would usually expect only from a 15" driver. And it is loud! I purchased the amp for practice and studio use, but in retrospect, I wouldn't hesitate to use it standalone for small gigs. And the balanced DI (pre-everything) is great for further amplification on stage or for recording. The compressor is a simple on/off affair with a fixed threshold, so the extent of compression is determined by the gain. It's a good, transparent compression that evens out the signal nicely without being obvious at all. The EQ is simple but sufficiently flexible to shape the sound very nicely. The amp is solidly built, but not too hefty, and has useful handles on the sides as well as the typical carry-******** top. The kick-back feature is really great, allowing for the amp to be angled upward without requiring an additional amp stand. And to top it off, bang for buck, this is without question the best value for money I've ever seen in a bass amp of its class and size.

Surprisingly loud for the nominal power rating with good tone. DI works well with minimal noise and no perceptible hum on standby from the amp or the DI so easy to work with in church context. Physically easy to maneuver with top and side handles. Very happy so far.
