Product Description

Burns London, the historic UK guitar brand, offers quirky '60s-inspired instruments that really stand out from the crowd! Their SJB Six Bass harks back to the original 1962 'Jazz Guitar' series, utilising a comfortable 30" short-scale design and boasting a heavy set of mid-bass 18-85 gauge strings — to deliver that authentic '60s bellowing, baritone instrumental sound. Oozing with retro charm, this unique instrument provides the reliable and reassuring build quality that you'd expect from a modern-day guitar — making it the perfect example of old meets new!

The SJB Six Bass comes equipped with a trio of Burns' legendary 'Tri-Sonic' pickups with 5-way switching, and also sports a responsive tremolo unit that makes it a joy to embellish your playing with smooth vibrato — whenever inspiration strikes!

Key Features

  • Okoume Body — A popular timber often likened to Mahogany for its warm and sustain-rich sound, giving the SJB Six Bass fantastic sonic depth.
  • Maple Neck — A high-quality wood that's strong and bright in tone.
  • Bolt-On Construction — Gives the instrument a "snappy" sound and response, so you'll always feel musically-connected when you strum a chord or pick a note!
  • 30" Scale Length — A hybrid scale often used for short-scale basses, giving the SJB enough string tension for stable tuning while allowing for expressive playability.
  • Burns Tri-Sonic Pickups — Iconic single-coils adored for their bright chimey overtones and punchy, barking mid-range. They're synonymous with Queen's Brian May!
  • Push/Pull Function — Pull the second tone control up to engage the neck pickup with any position on the 5-way pickup selector switch. This means that you can get a T-style tone if you select the bridge pickup position with the push/pull activated, or you can even use all 3 pickups together in switch position 4. This gives you a total of 7 different sounds!
  • Burns Tremolo — This "jazz" inspired tremolo system allows you to tastefully add vibrato to a ringing chord or note.

Fantastic sale price and Burns 6 string Bass great value for money. Quality well above its price point. Sound / feel is very good. I am sure that there is a compromise somewhere because of the low cost, but not found it yet. Highly recommend to any musician wanting to try something between guitar and bass without spending lots of money

The Burns 6 string bass i had from Andertons was absolutely spot on . Straight out of the box and itdidn't even need tuning . Not bad for the distance it travelled . The set up was spot on and it looks as if it had been quality checked by Andertons themselves . It sounds great . many tone options . I had it as i'm a big fan of Jet Harris and all the 60s type of twang that can be had from this peach of an instrument . Lovely shade of green too . Price wise it was superb too as Andertons had a deal on . Under £300 so absolute bargain . Many thanks .
