Product Description

One of Blackstar’s biggest successes has been its HT amplifier range. Encompassing a bunch of affordable, tube-driven amps; these tone machines have been incredibly popular with bedroom players and touring musicians alike, acclaimed for their versatility, ease-of-use and robust build-quality.

The HT series defines that “plug in and play” mentality that all of us guitarists seek. And with their updated MKII series, Blackstar have kicked everything up a notch! Improving upon an already brilliant formula, Blackstar have catered for their loyal users’ requests and added a raft of new features. Including a footswitchable boost, professional recording outputs and multiple voices/modes, these amazing-sounding amplifiers boast even more functionality and tones than ever before!

Black & Blue Edition

In a unique combination of baby blue, tan and cream aesthetics, an iconic Celestion Vintage 30 and at the heart of it all, RCA-style remakes of Blackplate 6L6 power valves – the HT Club 40 MkII Black and Blue Edition is truly a living classic.

TAD have reignited the tonal powerhouse that is the 6L6 by recreating the highly-regarded vintage Blackplate RCA 6L6GC valves. Resulting in a deeper bass response and smooth top end, these exclusive 6L6GC-STR valves along with the true icon of amplifier speakers, the Celestion Vintage 30, will bring vintage quality and tone to the modern guitarist.

Versatile Tones

The HT MKII clean channel features an American/British voicing switch, to really let you find your favourite tonal flavour. The American voicing offers a tighter and more responsive clean, with a brighter top-end sparkle. The British voicing delivers a “chimey” and more open-sounding clean, which becomes grittier when you crank the volume.

The overdrive side of the amp essentially has two channels. Sharing the same EQ section, each channel has its own voicing switch that lets you tweak your sound and have a wider palette of tones. Each channel also has its own independent gain and volume controls, letting you perfectly set up rhythm and lead channels!

Footswitchable Modes

All of the modes on the MKII series are footswitchable, resulting in the widest possible selection of stage accessible valve tones. The supplied 2-way footswitch enables the selection of the clean and overdrive channels, and the two voices on each channel.

The optional FS-14 5-Way Footcontroller enables instant access to all channels and voices, plus the global boost function and reverb switching for maximum control of your setup. The boost adds more volume when you need your solos to really punch through the mix!

Power Reduction & Professional USB/XLR Recording Outputs

The power reduction feature allows you to turn down to 10% of the amp’s rated power. This ergonomic addition makes these amps perfect for practice, so that you can get all the tonal goodness from your HT MKII amplifier at a lower volume.

If you love recording but hate setting up mics, or just want to record at home without hiring a studio, the MKII amplifiers will have your back. Featuring convincing-sounding recording outputs, you can record directly into your computer or interface. This means that you can enjoy the HT MKII’s valve tones without compromise.

Studio-quality reverb

The MKII amps now boast an improved and natural-sounding digital reverb, letting you spice up your tone when you just want some vibe. Use the switch on the rear panel to select between ‘dark’ and ‘light’, if you want a more subtle or brighter spring-style verb.

Been using Blackstar amps for many years, the new MKII sound amazing. I went for the Black & Blue HT 40 mainly for the 6L6 valves & Vintage Speaker. So glad I did, super high quality amp in build & sound, you just can't get a bad sound out of it, amazing cleans & overdrive thump without the fizz.
