SKU: ABT60E
Alvarez’s acoustic line is notoriously diverse, and features a raft of stunning acoustic guitars that emit the most glorious of tones. The Artist Baritone ABT60E is one such model, boasting a unique Baritone scale length that gives the instrument a lower voicing; factory-tuned down to B.
Construction
The Alvarez ABT60E is constructed predominantly from Mahogany, with its body and neck crafted from this popular tonewood. Offering a warm and rich mid-range, this material also accentuates the lows to ensure that the full range of the instrument is heard.
Adorned with a Solid A+ Sitka Spruce top, this wood adds some crucial top-end crispness. Providing you with plenty of presence, you can play fingerpicked patterns with all of the clarity and articulation you’d expect from a high-quality acoustic guitar.
The ABT60E features Alvarez’s thoughtful FST2 bracing, which is essentially a forward-shifted X brace design. With the axis of the X closer to the sound hole, this design forms a larger soundboard area that can harness more vibrations from the strings. This results in excellent projection and resonance.
Electronics & Hardware
Fitted with an LR Baggs StagePro Element system, the Alvarez ABT60ESHB will offer an authentic acoustic tonality when plugged into a PA System or recording interface. Class-leaders in acoustic pickup technology, LR Baggs’ StagePro system will translate the acoustic voice of the ABT60ESHB very convincingly, capturing its full range.
Sporting a 3-band EQ section as well as a phase inversion switch, you can tailor the tone of this instrument to suit the acoustic qualities of any space. For example, if you’re playing in a particularly dark-sounding venue, just boost the treble and you’ll cut through effortlessly!
The Baritone Design
Baritone acoustics are something of a rarity. Using tweaked bracing and dimensions, you can attain a totally different acoustic texture. Somewhere between a traditional acoustic and a bass guitar in terms of pitch and tuning, Baritone acoustics provide a deep yet glassy tone that’s simply spellbinding.
Combining modern manufacturing techniques with unique tonewood treatments, Alvarez’ Baritones are among their most popular models, despite their niche design. Give them a strum, pluck or twang and you’ll be transported to a whole new world of sound. If you’re looking for something different, this might just be it.
