Sigma are now firmly established in the guitar world, with a reputation for producing high-quality (and beautiful) instruments at a fraction of the cost of some of their competitors!
The OMTC-1STE-SB+ is no exception to this, combining alluring vintage aesthetics with modern design appointments and playability - and without the associated price tag.
Body & Neck
Tilia (aka basswood) is used for the back and sides; it's known for a sparkling midrange emphasis with excellent sustain.
On top, you've got solid sitka spruce, a wood that frequently features on guitars that cost significantly more than this one!
This guitar has a 000 body shape, compact and ergononic. The curves have been carefully designed with a comfortable playing experience in mind, but the wood combination ensures no compromise of tone. Combine this with the lightweight mahogany neck and the unusual micarta fingerboard, and you've got a beautifully organic cocktail of resonant tones at your disposal!
Hardware & Electronics
One of the key features of this guitar is the Fishman Isys+ preamp. Fishman are known for their expertise in the acoustic field, making pickups and preamps that produce incredibly convincing sounds.
The Isys+ is an all-encompassing electronics setup for an acoustic guitar. It managed to extract all of the pristine harmonic detail of an acoustic while offering excellent tonal tweaking controls and a built-in tuner. The hardware is understated, allowing the sleek finish to stand out.
